Please raise the level cap a decent amount

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 5:27 am

Currently I have to use the command line to raise the level cap for my character. It would be great to raise it to something like 75. In addition you could add new skills. The skills do not have to be super powerful just somewhere to use the skill points and while you are at it increase the number of experience points between new levels. Start that at about level 60.

Why New Vegas Is too easy as it is!

Level 30 is almost God mode. Anymore is too much, so no they will not be making a higher level cap.

If you use any planning, 50 is definitely enough.

My character is lvl 40, he is fine. [censored] atleast my tribal just stretched. I have no idea what I am doing with my sniper at this point, I dont use vats much, and ended up having to take a pointless perk I will never use. Its been like that for some time, maaybe with more perks I wouldnt be in this problem, but honestly my snipers plan went to hell the moment the lvl cap went past 35, now he has toughness x 2 and mr sandman, perks I dont need and ones that dont fit my characters RP.

No I am being dragged to lvl 50 thats enough for me. Too much even.

The cap will raise by 5 with each DLC. It will max out at 50, with the choice of choosing a trait for your character that allows you to stop it at 30.

Mine just reached level 40 and he's looking overpowered as it is. 100 in 5 skills and all combat skills are 70 (except Melee which is at 50 and Explosives which is at 40).

In Old World Blues (and other characters with OWB downloaded) there is a new Trait that allows you to cap yourself at 30 (or current level if above). If you do not select this trait, then you can reach Level 50 with all DLCs.

Oh did not know. I think that kinda stupid you will need NO skill at that kind of level.

A stupid Monkey sleeping on a keyboard will have just as much skill as an average player at those kind of levels!

the only thing u get when u level up is more life , weapons do fixed damage , perk that boost damage are in limited in numbers , the only thing u get is more skill points , i was also advocating for this , or maybe we could have some more books thrown into the DLC , ( not random books tough )

I think a level cap of 50 is more than enough. At that point I'll have a pretty much perfect character to take over the wasteland with :goodjob:

And so it was that the Courier, who just maybe had good skill in guns and speech, became a walking demigod of the Wasteland, for unknowns and rather silly sake

Thanks for the "level cap" perk too, im just stay with my lv 25 courier if people dont mind

My thoughts on it is that it's everyone's perogitive to play the game how they want to play it. It's their character after all, but it is good that they're giving those who don't wish to become godlike characters a perk to prevent it. To each his own.

op are you crazy? Level 75 lol everything will be at 100, you ll have points you can t even distribute. lol

Im pretty sure 50 will make you plenty Uber.

I just hit level 40 in HH. My guy was only average at EW, surv, explo, and was like 71 in sneak. Melee and unarmed were in the 20s and 30s. Now he is really good with ew, he s starting to become a ninja, and his survival skill is begining to make McGuyver feel like he is lacking ohhh and he s an average melee fighter now too.

By level 50 he will be the greatest person that ever walked the earth. This with only a 5 in int. I keep int. average just so I have less skill points to dish out. With 7 or higher int. your man would have to be 80-100 in everything by level 50.

50 is more than enough. Im still waiting for some "bullet sponges" to counter our Uberness. We started to see them in HH. I love them...

Exactly the situation my character is in. Why can't perks & assigning points be optional? I'm fine with gaining exp levels, but I can't see the point of being level 40 and maxed out in the skills I want, with the prospect of dumping the next ten levels of points into unarmed.

I agree, it completely kills character development. At early levels it works OK because we tend to add points to skills our character uses a lot but the higher we go the more goes into everything else, I'm L35 at the moment and have unarmed of 45 without ever throwing a punch.

I'd like to see skill points taken out of the levelling system altogether, points should be added in real time as the player actually does things and levels should just for perks.

I'm not trying to get an overpowered character. I did not go out of my way to gain the experience I just play the game. I like to explore everything and in doing so I have gotten a lot of experience. I like my character and I do not want to start over nor do I want to have my character stagnate. By having a level cap the game is saying you have nothing more to learn and that is a philosophy to which I strongly disagree.

When the level cap was 30, I wanted it higher because there were still perks I wanted that would match my character's identity.
Now that we can have it at 40, I'm fine, but there's still one or two perks I wouldn't mind having.
At 50, I struggle to see how I won't be completely satisfied. Why the hell would anyone need 32 perks?

If someone wants to have 32 perks, its their choice. There is going to be a perk that makes it impossible to level over 30 at the start of the game. And it can be taken later as well. So with it, everyone is happy, people who want uber characters can have them, and people who want balanced play, can also have it. Everyone wins.
