Dang, and I'm not home right now, so I can't listen to it. If anyone's heard it already, are there any good questions answered?

Im not going to copy it all word for word but ill do my best to edit in the Q&A as I hear them.

Q: Will the Strip be accessible early on in the game?
A: 40-50% of the way through the game for most players. If you are determined though you can get in there in 15 minutes. He also says level 30 is not easy.

Q: Will pre-order items be already in our inventory?
A: Yes. As soon as you load up a game after installing DLC you get the items, whether its at the start or half way through.

Q: Does hardcoe make the player character and other NPCs easier to kill?
A: No, difficulty and hardcoe are seperate things.

Q: Are there any underground ghoul areas?
A: We have underground areas and underground areas that have ghouls. We have ghouls above ground, below ground, intelligent ghouls, feral ghouls, super hot ghouls and dominatrix ghouls.

Q: Will there be any camoes from characters from F1 and F2.
A: Yes but no specifics.

Q: Are there different armors for the companions?
A: Each companion has their own quest and completing that quest upgrades that companion in various ways.

Q: What is your fav companion?
A: If NCR ED-E and Boone. If not Veronica because shes fun and Rex.

Q: Is Slayer back as a melee perk?
A: Yes.

Q: What are the recommended PC Specs?
A: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor: 2.0GHz dual core EDIT: Whoops, its 2.0GHz not 2.7GHz.
RAM: 2GHz
HDR Space: 10GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 6xxx series or ATI 1300XD(? difficult to hear) series

If you can run Fallout 3 you can run FNV in some fashion. The specs have been bumped up a little.

Q: I hear Michael Dorn is a voice actor, will there be any Star Trek references?
A: Not really but there are a lot of Star Trek actors.

There is also a companion question in there related to karma and reputation but it confused me so I wont copy it out.

So, is companion karma replaced with faction allegiance?

Glad to get confirmation (sort of) on the companion quests. Still, no word if we'll get to see a complete visual overhaul for Raul, though. :sadvaultboy:

Thanks alot! :) .

Hmm, so companions may like certain factions and others not? Interesting.

And... Dominatrix ghouls!?

a bit worrying on the Processor spec, since I only have a Pentium 4, 3.00 GHz, there is a risk that bump might have left me out...

We will. He unlocks his full vaquero outfit at some point.

You guys should really listen to the podcast yourself, and not rely on MrBigglesworth's summary as it's very much a summary.

Im sure he was joking when they started talking about super hot and dominatrix ghouls... i hope.

As above said its very worth listening to it yourself whenever you get the time. There are still questions I missed.

We'll see, I guess...

It's not that I don't have time to listen to it. Nor is it a case of not wanting to listen to it either. It's just that I'm physically incapable of hearing it. Being deaf has it's disadvantages... :(

FYI, it's been confirmed that ED-E comes from the East Coast, though that was pretty obvious already. It looks like he's definitely going to be our only source of information on the Capital Wasteland.

Level 30 is now actually hard to reach according to Jason.
Nice, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Me to. I've got 2.2 GHz dual core and ran Fallout 3 pretty good, so I just hope its gonna be ok. My old computer had Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz and it was extremely slow in VATS.

I run Fallout 3 lag free, not with any high settings, but it worked. Oh well in worst case F:NV have to sit on my steam account until I have the money to upgrade my PC.

I have 2.5GHz. However, I was able to run Fallout 3 on Ultra High + graphic enhancers with little to no lag. I should be fine on Medium at the very least.

Good to know, that I thought that there would be much of a difference anyway.

Nice podcast. Always good to hear the devs talk about their ideas (especially Feargus with his seemingly overwhelming ardor to express his standpoints :P). Too bad there was nothing too new or groundbreaking - but then again, at this point they aren't basically needed anymore.

Did they really have to have that stupid computer voice give the system specs? It made it difficult to understand and hear everything, partly because I haven't heard a speech synthesizer that bad in nearly a decade.

I was panicking over the processor requirements after reading this thread but I just listened to that part of the podcast myself twice. The computer voice says 2.0GHz Dual core processor NOT 2.7GHz.
Whew.
