poison on knives? : Fallout: New Vegas

I have read somewhere i can put poison on knives. is this true and how?

You can make Cloud Kiss (varying from weak to lethal dose) and use it on a knife. I've tried it, but I'm not sure what it does, if anything.
Haven't seen differences in stats, so I would like to know more about this as well.

Each level of this item can be made at a campfire.

Cloud Kiss (Weak) requires:

Abraxo Cleaner (1) and Jar of cloud residue (1).
Cloud Kiss (Potent) requires:

Abraxo Cleaner (1), Jar of cloud residue (2), and Turpentine (1).
Cloud Kiss (Lethal) requires:

Abraxo Cleaner (2), Jar of cloud residue (3), and Turpentine (1).
It requires 25 survival skill to craft the weak version, 50 to craft the potent version, and 75 to craft the lethal version.

Just select your weapon, then select Cloud Kiss from the AID section and it will ask you to confirm if you want to poison your selected weapon.

This is the most damaging one in the normal game.

Cloud Kiss is Dead Money only (well I assume you can use it outside the DLC but you need the DLC to be able to craft it)

Does poison do damage against robots? It kinda seems logical that it would not.

I think it does. ED-E is damaged by poison. I'm not entirely sure but I think it will still harm them.
