So I've looked at poisons after I was slaughter by deathclaws north of a place where their meant to be and was wondering how effective they really are againist Deathclaws and other fast/strong enemies?
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mother_Darkness for example does AGL -3(1m), PER -3(1m) and HP -8(10s) so would this bring a Deathclaws AGL, which I assume is 10, down to 7 ? And what if I cripple a leg or two would that reduce it further to say 5 or 6 ?
How do you apply them to your weapons, is it under Mods (RB on the the Pip-Boy for Xbox) ?
Lastly they are defined as consumables, does this mean I could drink on of these and invoke the affects on myself and possibly revease pick pocket one onto a NPC and they would drink it ?
Poisons apply when using melee weaps, and possibly unarmed ones as well, although I'm not sure on those. You equip a melee weap, 'use' the poison, and then attack. It's a one-shot use, so if you're throwing spears, it will only apply to the first one you throw, not the whole stack. Pretty sure it only affects one 'hit' with non-throwing weapons like knives, machetes, etc. So you can't stab it 5 times in a row and get 5 poison applications. You will just get one application, on your first hit. If fights were long, poisons would be worthwhile. But most fights are over so quickly that the -8(10s) or whatever, only hits for a couple of seconds, if that. So, is that worth hunting all over the wasteland for weeks to find all the exotic and hard-to collect items it takes to make those poisons? You be the judge...
(the answer is... 'hell no')
