Pondering about the new patch and Veronica

Post » Wed May 11, 2011 4:04 am

Sorry if this has been stated already, first time posting.

I was reading the Fallout Wiki and it said that Veronica's companion quest was practically redone, well, added to greatly. I was wondering....

1.) If this was true and not just some user saying it for the sake of.
2.) What they changed and the most importantly for me is, do I have to start over to notice this big changes? I didn't have the quest started, I didn't even have her as a companion yet, thankfully. Just wondering, hope I don't have to restart.

Thanks in advance.

This is random but it has to do with the patch so it's not completely offtopic.
There are three young gecko's at goodsprings source which cannot be killed with explosives.
I tried 8 HE missiles against them and then an entire clip of 25mm HE rounds as well.
/random off.

Here is the deal with Questing and Patching

1. If you have not started the quest, or the preliminary activities to get a quest, then no worries about what changes the quest has, you will see it.

2. If you have not started the quest, but have done some preliminaries, then maybe you have to do the preliminaries over again, but that is rare.

3. If you are in the middle of the quest, then patch it, then maybe that you need to load an earlier save to start the quest over as the patch may not have fixed any underlying conditons in the save that caused the problem. Only way to know, try it and see what happens.

4. If you have finished the quest, and it borked due to some reason that the patch fixed, the quest will still be borked as no patch can go back in time, effectively.

I haven't seen Veronica in weeks...
Game-wise and real life.
I left in the Presidential Suite of the Lucky 38, and, alas, I haven't seen her since.

I'm almost done with her quest on my current playthrough, but I don't really see anything wrong with it. It is a little strange that she is chatty with the NPCs in the Brotherhood bunker, but we can't bring up the times they try to murder her in cold blood. So maybe that's changed.

There's speculation that the narrator in the Dead Money trailer is Father Elijah. If so, I'd like Veronica to be able to talk to him, though it looks like we can't bring our companions into the DLC.

Thanks for all the responses so far. Now I just got to find out if they did do major work on her quest and is so, what changed.
