Poor giants,

Giants aren't aggressive. They warn you soon as the can see you, Beating the air with their weapons, meaning "don't come any closer!".

They don't run up to you and start killing you as soon as they see you, like every other thing in the game. They just want to be left alone, drinking their mammoth milk, and eating mammoth cheese.

A creature smart enough to wear a loin cloth and domesticate animals is smart enough to talk. We should be able to talk to them. From a safe distance, at least.

Some form of communication must have been attempted in the past.
Maybe the attempt failed,or more likely it just wasn't installed in the game.
It would be nice if there was some kind of communication with them though.

They atack and eat farmers.Hate the orcs, atack any thing that they consider weak(it's said that at malcath quest, that giants try to steal territory from humans). Also their lenguage exist, and also the ability to talk with them but was removed from the game:
"Giantish is the language of the Giants and is featured as a skill in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. When nearing a giant the Giantish skill is checked, if high enough the giant will be non-hostile."

Have you ever killed one? Ever wondered where they get all their good gear? They killed someone for it.

They crush people's farms, kill their livestock, etc. I have met a farmer who is giving livestock to the giants in hopes they will leave the rest of his farm alone, and his biggest concern is the giant's killing him as he gives the livestock.

Later in the game the, "I'm looking for work, Got any leads?" quests will start sending you after troublesome giants.

Lack of food other than mammoths has hampered their communication skills.

Yes, they have cows in fires and pyres to cook but they're not for eating, they're purely ceremonial to keep humans away.

I've felt the same way about Giants. So far my current and only character has just avoided them - this is a good warrior type characer. Except for one case were there was a lone Giant on the road heading towards populated areas outside of Whiterun. So I figured I had to kill him before he got there. But otherwise they seem nice enough.

They atack and eat farmers....

Have you seen them or any reports of them attacking and eating farmers?

Yes,at the game a farmer says that he is giving his precious cow to make giants stoping atacking his farmer.i saw some members on the forums saying that they eat humans like in the old mythlogy, and that the Mammoths are to make Fur,so they are not killed.

Interesting. Thanks I'll be watching out for those comments.

That might change my opinion of Giants. I was thinking of eventually making a Giant killer character.

Why not!? Lol!

Carthage used them, to devastating results,in the 2nd Punic war invasion of Italy. They only lost due to African elephants not being used to cold, and the Roman legions "scorched earth" type of tactics. The Romans were soundly defeated in every engagement they were forced to fight. So they just stopped fighting, and used attrition to defeat Hannibal. It's why (ultimately) English vocabulary is 70% Latin, instead of Phoenician.

And besides, Elephants are [censored] cool!

They eat the cheese made from the milk. Every Giant camp has mammoth cheese. They're not purely ceremonial.

They sure seem aggressive when I go harvesting Grand Souls from their mammoths.
Clearly they don't understand that the needs of the ME outweigh the needs of the many large, loinclothed peoples of the tundra.

I said cows. They eat mammoth. They have cows in pyres. I've never seen cow cheese/beef laying around. :(

Mammoth cheese would be made from mammoth milk I would guess. But as someone mentioned you can get a bit of lore from one farmer on the Whiterun plains. Seems like they do eat cows.

I made a thread in this vein a couple of months before the game came out. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1228993-save-the-giants/

They look like Onivore creatures like humans and other races. So they probaly eat Goats also ifound some dead animals at their camps like Saber Tooth cats and Trolls. Also we can see them wearing Troll bones. They probaly eat humans too, just as priests of Namira does.
