Poor Vigilant of Stendar

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:30 am

So I had to go kill a giant for some dude. I suppose the giant may have killed his cow. So after the deed was done I'm walking towards the Western Watchtower and I see a torch. "Oh who's this coming along?" I think to myself. I find out quickly they aren't friendly as they begin kicking my backside. It's a V-something Vampire... and has a thrall with him. So I dispatch the vampire, thinking the thrall looks familiar. As I search the ash pile I find out why he looked familiar. I find an amulet of Stendar and the clothing that the vigilants wear. Poor guy, spending his life fighting evil, to end up as the thrall of a vampire. So sad.

I run across two of them fighting a vampire quite frequently, they almost always seem to get manhandled.

Had that happen to me- in one of the secret tunnels in a lake. Below are two vampires and a dead vigilant, they raised him to fight me. I took his thank you seriously.

I once found a vampire hideout where they had Stendarr follower locked up and it looked like they had kept him alive to regularly feed on him, but in the end, he killed himself. Poor dude :(

Poor Vigilant of Stendar my foot! They want to kill me because I'm a werewolf. I love having them for my dinner.

Also they should better train themselves for fighting with powerful enemies like vampires. Do you know just how weak they are? How can they fight evil when evil can easily defeat their asses?

Are they really weak? I never fought them but I always thought the opposite.

Heeeeh, that's cool! Where was it?

Well, I've tried fighting them once in their headquarters (somewhere during my level 20's-30's?). I managed to take down 3 or 4 of them by myself in werewolf form, before I finally got overrun by them (they surrounded me, so yeah). I'd say that makes a pretty sad result, especially considering they always travel in groups of only two.

Well, at least they manage to defeat draugr/skeletons (which I handle with one slash of my sword :P) and flame atronachs.

They are pathetic. As a level 1 mage on Master, I smoked the one in the House of Horrors quest pretty easily.

The only thing I've ever seen them beat is a Flame Atronach.

The one in Markarth is sooo annoying. Every time I go to Vlindrel Hall, he stops me. If I was a murderer, I would take him out just to get him out of my path.
