Is it possible to acquire Nightingale bowarmor WITHOUT Thiev

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:56 am

I'm an archer and like the aesthetic of the Nightingale bow alot more than Daedric, but I'm not a thief. A contract killer without mercy, yes, but I earn my spoils. So, anyway I can get it?

It's armor unique to that questline, so no. It's the equivalent of Wolf Armor or Archmage's Robes.

If you're on PC, I am sure you can find the item ID's for them and just give it to yourself. Lets see.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Leveled_Items#Nightingale_Bow

and http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Leveled_Items#Nightingale_Armor

I am not sure what the spawn item command is, though.

Mods or console commands for PC. Doubt there's a way to get it on consoles though.

player.additem #

codes here:
http://www.gamefront.com/skyrim-pc-item-codes/

For example to give yourself one nightingale bow you'd enter:
player.additem 000DEED8 1
into the console.

No you will not get it unless you follow the questline and it's also the only way you'll acquire the skeleton key...

Does the thieves guild quest line get less....I don't know, petty? After I was given the first group of tasks I quit because I felt like "I don't know these people. They might be decent hard working people that don't REALLY owe the guild anything." If the quests got a little more noble in scope, or Robbin Hoodish if you will, I won't have as much of a problem.

They're thieves, of course their quests don't become more noble . However, they do have one of the better if not best faction quest lines. If you are hoping for them to be like the Thieves Guild in Cyrodill....they aren't.

Nope, they're thieves. Thank god, actually. I couldn't stand the supposedly 'justified' Thieves' Guild in Oblivion, who were steal thieving bastards but were portrayed as noble protectors of those less fortunate.

Thieves AREN'T noble. They steal stuff that others have earned for their own purposes. At least the Skyrim Thieves' Guild has the guts to admit it.

/minor rant

Why yes, yes there is...

Spoiler
Open the console and type 'coc qasmoke' and take what you want out of the chests. Then type 'coc Riverwood' to return to the game world.

Problem solved.

player.additem f652c 1

Or you can finish a thieves guild quest. It's a quest reward. If you don't do a specific quest, you won't get the specific quest reward. It's not rare loot.

I too don't want to be a criminal just to get the best rogue equipment. It would be nice if you could get equivalent armor from other sources.

Thanks everyone. Believe it or not I actually don't dislike the thieves bieng dis-noble (probably not a word). It's just my current character IS.....so a work around would simply befit HIM. I too was upset when my straight up evil thief was a saint in Oblivion.

Why not do the thieves guild quest ? i think it is one of the more interesting sidequests and alot of fun , nor are they difficult except maybe for the markath part , anotherr bonus for doing the thievesguld quests are the fences you get in every town where you can sell your loot

just my thoughts

Another alternative is to download a mod that allows you to create the Nightingale bow and what not, http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2092 is a mod that will allow you to create the armour as well as many other items of clothing however I am not sure that they allow you to create the weapons, if it is only the aesthetics you are after I am sure there will be a mod somewhere that allows you to create both enchanted and non enchanted versions of the bow.
