Possible clues to Dawnguard DLC content?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 1:54 am

Hi there guys.I`ve just been searching around the internet for clues regarding the Dawnguard DLC ,and I discovered a good site that gives what I think isa very clear indication as to some of the contents ( not entirely sure I can mention the site,so best not to ).The site claims that someone has scanned the contents of a future patch which mentions: Snow Elves, Snow Elf Prince, crossbows, and ascension burning.Just wondered if anyone else has seen or heard this??

Actually, they didn't scan a future patch. It was posted on IGN(orant) that a modder had scanned through the 1.5 patch and found "support" code for all of that.

As to whether or not any of what he found will make it into the DLC, well that's for all of the speculators to discuss frantically.

Yeah, the support/description code is contained in 1.5, but all code has stuff like this. It's for "just in case" the developer decides to add something to do with it into the game later, they don't have to do as much work to get the new items to integrate well into the older code.

It's a fairly common occurance in the industry.

The DLC should be something completely unexpected, like "Redguard Invasion".

As a Redguard, I find this inflammatory.

What - the idea that the Reguards would invade, or that nobody expects them to? :P

Obligatory Monty Python reference: no one expects the Redguard Invasion!

I'm sure whatever they are working on won't let me down. And if it does? Well, that's probably not possible.

It most certainly has to do with this patch working with the new dlc...1.5 is most likely the last patch that will be applied to all platforms before the dlc is released in a couple months so it makes sense dlc content would be coded in the patch (otherwise dlc would be crazy buggy)

I welcome the crossbows eagerly. One thing I hated about Skyrim was the lack of variety of weapons. Crossbows should help fix that. It would be awesome if it also included polearms and throwing weapons. If they added those three, I would be happy with the weapon variety. But alas, I would be content with merely crossbows, because its better than nothing.
