possible expansion?

Hey all,

I was catching up on my Elder Scroll lore and something dawned on me, will a Skyrim Expansion take place in "Akavir"?

reason i was wondering this is:

look back at Oblivion, what was the main enemy? Daedra, and the realm of oblivion. so for the Oblivion Expansion they sent you to another plain of oblivion to serve a daedric prince.

now Skyrim, the main enemy/foe? DRAGONS!

now read UESPs page on skyrim lore http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Akavir

akavir is also known as "Dragon Land", and throughout its history it mentions Dragons.

so, if oblivion sends you to another plain of oblivion for its expansion, its not that far off for skyrim, where the main enemy is Dragons, to send you to the land of Dragons.

opinions?

Nonsense! Oblivion got it's stupid DLCs and then its expansion. The expansion ended up not playing as well because there was no OOO for it, but that's a different story.

I really don't think you can say where any expansion might take place. The fact that the Shivering Isles was about a daedric prince had nothing to do with the plot of Oblivion. There are lots of design considerations that make daedric realms desirable for expansions: few lore/canon restrictions, the world doesn't need to be connected, no need to consider plot ties, etc.

I believe we will get expansions. sure more companies do more small DLC, but there are certain companies that still release expansions for certain titles

The first DLC release should reflect an escalation of conflict between the Imperial Legion and/or Stormcloaks vs. the Thalmor. In all honesty, we should stick with what's going on in current events before we see anything beyond Skyrim's borders.

Otherwise it will feel like we're being thrown all over the place without a clear direction. Perhaps in DLC down the line an idea like yours would be interesting but I'd rather see other issues get resolved first.

Murdering Tosh Raka in our first excursion to Akavir? Well, someone's ambitious. He's Tiber Septim/Talos of the Tiger-Dragon people and... he needs to meet with Parthurnaax. I want to watch that.

I'm all for DLCs in place of expansions, provided that the DLCs are priced low enough and they get released as regularly as possible.

If the DLCs are also the method of adding to CK resources then they can serve two major purposes:

1 - Keep a relevant skyrim storyline running almost like a TV series.
2 - Keep the flow of new material for the CK going.

IF that isn't possible, then the expansion method should be the direction they go.
