Possible fight between deadras, Sithis and Akatosh over Drag

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 1:24 pm

Well, there are few things to discuss (spoilers):

1. At the end of Thieves Guild questline you are selling your soul to Noctrurnal.
2. Souls of Dark Brotherhood members belongs to Sithis.
3. If you are werewolf (Companions) you are going to the Hircine's Hunting Grounds after death.
4. In fact you are Dragonborn, so Akatosh would like to take your soul back.
5. You can become champion of many deadric princes in Skyrim, I think, that they would also pretend to claim your poor soul.

What do you think about that, would they make a "small" war, or just Akatosh will get you, becouse he's the most powerfull. Of course they can just give up, or spilt your soul into parts , or... play paper-stone-sisscors.

That would be an interesting thing to explore in my opinion.

It's become a cliche in storytelling to have a character that 'devotes' or 'sells' their 'soul' to some higher being, but we only see the part of them benefitting from it; not much of the 'okay time's up' or 'okay you messed up, now give me that soul!' parts. A quest that settles such soul-related rules or conflicts would be an interesting one, I think.

Good eye for pointing out Bethesda's frequent use of 'the soul' playing a part in their writing. They should commit to it more, instead of just using it because it sounds cool.

That would be interesting DLC. Somebody assassinates you, and you have to escape the massive battle over the Dragonborn's soul :P

Man, I wish MY threads got open-minded people to respond when I post an idea that took effort to notice. Get nothing but nay-sayers, man.

Oh, well. It's not like Todd's watching anyway.

Yeah, anyway your soul will be torn to pieces. Or one of them will make you submitt to them like it happens in House of horror.

You'd think they'd do that more often instead of having people worship them by will. Just force them!

Then we can have an Exorcist Guild :{D~

Also: Sithis is too busy shopping at Hot Topic to care about who gets your soul. If he DID care, we wouldn't get the bunch of idiots we got for the DB in Skyrim.

Sithis isn't picky, he just wants Souls.

Besides, Sithis and Anu are the two oldest beings in the multi-verse. No Daedra or Aedra could hope to stand up to them.

Sithis wins.

And he'll even get you a shirt froom Hot Topic while he's at it...

Sithis if he even can think wouldn't give a rats ass...

As for the rest, it's completely open. Akatosh won't claim your soul however, at best he'll just throw it in the recycling bin (dreamsleave) all other Daedra might have a claim.

Spoiler
Your oath to Nocturnal gets fufilled at the end of the quest line however. You can cure werewolf disease at the end of the companions

I'd think that the remaining Daedra would just have a nice fight about you and in the end you go to Sovngarde.

I hope http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1334282-dying-and-necromancy/page__view__findpost__p__20156415 gives the definitive answer... we could get out of this so easily! :D

Anyway, it has just been discussed on that topic. Some point was that Hircine would want to go first since no other deity would want a werewolf's soul to their realms.

The final DLC for Skyrim: God Wars -- The Fight For The Dragonborn's Soul

Now this is going to be interesting. See we've got Meridia who got this by giving Sonja and offer she couldn't refuse -- spread my word or die. Then there's Nocturnal, to whom you gave your soul, but then what if you just pulled a Mercer and wanted the key for yourself anyway and screw the Thieves Guild and Nightengales? I have no intention of walking the Pilgrim's Path to return the key. It's mine! Mine! Mine! I sided with Mara against Vaermina (and that cost me the achievement, thus freeing me to be an a-hole to the daedra). Although I do admit Sonja does have an allegiance to Azura of some sort when she did that quest before falling into complete sociopathy. Since then she's never felt so free.

So in this DLC you could play your character struggling to get into the realm you want to remain for eternity. Say you do die as a werewolf but want entry into Sovengarde (if you're a Nord)? But then what about Sithis?

Sithis is the void. Well everything began in the void anyway. It is said Sithis is above both Aedra and Daedra. It is said Sithis is evil because it is represented by death. Death is also thought of as evil yet is part of the natural cycle.

So Sithis wins.

Was just going to post that for the 100th time, glad to see somebody's been paying attention. Thanks.

Yes, souls in TES universe are different from the way we think of souls in the Judeo-Christian culture. Our culture tends to view the soul as the essence of the "self" while the metaphysics of TES undermines the concept of self as its central theme. "Self" in TES is an illusion.
