Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, as I didn't really read more than a page into the forums, but just give the body of Mc(whatever) his damn hat back. Or rather, put the old cowboy hat on his corpse. I did this and everything is working just fine.

Wish I had known this before getting stuck in the Lucky 38

Bah, well maybe not a fix. Everything was fine lastnight, walked in and out of several casinos onto the strip, went up into Lucky 38 and saved only to come home from work today and find I'm back at the 'black screen' glitch.

So unfortunately, it seems this was not a permanent fix, only a temporary one.
