Is it possible that the couries is?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 3:01 am

courier it's meant to say

I know it sounds radical but is it possible he is some kind of cyborg? A bit like the guy from FO3 who is from the common wealth. It's just going to old world blues where experiments on humans were conducted ad the fact he got SHOT in the head and survived. Even benny said he hit you straight in the head.

I know it seems far fetched just a little theory.

I would think Doc Mitchell would have figured it out or Dr. Usanagi with the implants.

Yea I did think of that. I also wondered if the doc knew something about you. I always felt like he was hiding something and there was a lot more to him then he let on. I actually thought he was going to give a quest also. It's possible mr house also knows? As I said it's defo a far out theory.

Lol I see what you;re saying guy's. I'm just playing it through again. He survived a bullet to the brain with no damage. I feel like the game also pushed those points quite well at the beginning. He is now being led to OWB where experiments are/was being performed on humans. Is Ulysses leading him here because he want to show him something about his past?

It's fun to speculate. :)

Are you replying to my speculate comment? If you are mate then turn your [censored] around and get out of this thread. In fact if you;re going to come in here just to be a tool then don't bother. Go and complain about a T.V program or something.

I like the idea that you're more than a human. They said you didn't have amnesia from the gunshot, so you wonder how this Ulysses/Courier thing will pan out. He's supposedly Frumentarií, so who knows. Saved Royce from the Big Empty so he seems good..

Legate Lanius said he saw two bullet scars in the couriers head and in the ending the courier cheated death twice.
Ulysses is rumered to have had a relationship with the courier that went wrong in the worst way and when johnathan nash said when he saw the couriers name next on the list Ulysses asked if the courier was still alive.
shot twice in the head and still standing.

What about hardcoe mode? An android shouldn't need water or food.

Makes me think that the Courier should automatically start with the Die Hard perk.

No it isn't.

As others have pointed out. The Doctors that fixed you up and give implants would have figured it out. hardcoe mode you need to to eat, drink and sleep.

People can survive bullets to the head. One man survived and he lost half his head to a .357. People can survive some pretty messed up things.

If you want to think the courier is an android you are free to do so but s/he isn't one.

Another example of surviving crazy stuff http://www.thesurvivorsclub.org/extreme/crime/man-survives-shotgun-blast

i also wondered this, early on!

after playing it through and reading up on van buren, i've adjusted my theories...my current thought is that the Courier and Ulysses both belonged to some sort of project that basically made them badass, but they are still quite human. i'm not sure how yet, but i'm sure we'll get some more ideas in Old World Blues...

The Courier is a cyborg, presuming he's invested in some implants from Usunagi (and everyone does, right?).

His being a Commonwealth-style android, though? I doubt it somehow. And the fact he survives a bullet in the head really isn't that remarkable in Fallout's world, it happens on a daily basis. I chalk it up to Benny having a crappy Guns skill myself.

Well I did say it was a radical theory. I never said I believe it either. No point coming into this thread and just leaving a face palm.

It is more believable that they were both created as super soldiers.

You can't win on these forums. I can see which side the sarcastic comments are coming from.

Don't take it personally, with great anonymity comes great douchbagginess...that is the way of internet forums. The shroud turns regular average people into some of the largest pricks on the planet.

As for the idea in the first post, you can believe whatever you want but from a lore stand point I find it highly unlikely.

If I'm not mistaken, it IS possible, in real life, to be shoot in the head and live, its just EXTREMELY unlikely, and you wouldn't be the same. I remember hearing a story in a psyc class about a guy a century or two ago who worked on a rail road. An explosion or something caused a rod to go right through (or stuck in) his head. They managed to patch him up and he was fine (aside from a huge hole in his head), but his personality was significantly different (though they didn't know it then, modern psychologists and doctors would now realize that the part of his brain that was damaged was related to personality. A bullet is far smaller than a rod, so assuming it doesn't break on impact and is a clean shot (as trying to dig a bullet out would probably be impossible without more damage) and doesn't hit anything vital someone could survive. Of course all those odds are next to (but not entirely) impossible.
