Post Patch 1.06 -- Dragons go bonkers

Post » Mon Jul 16, 2012 1:39 am

I have seen several dragons completely ignore my avatar while shooting arrows or casting fireballs. Not only that, the dragons appear to have reacquired the ability to fly backwards and in just about any other position. I've noticed this with one near Azura's Shrine. I've also noticed the "oblivious" behavior near Rorikstead. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm really close to putting the game away forever. I have already obtained all of the achievements and was replaying the game in case I wanted to add any DLCs. I had that water bug and deleted everything. Now, the water bug is gone and the dragons seem to act more like pinatas (peen-ya-tas). You have no idea how hard it is to get back into this game.

When did the "over-world" get so barren? Seems like this patch toned down a lot of "world" events. I feel like I have to go looking for trouble in pre-defined scripted areas. That's how bad it is.

Not sure what I can say about dragons flying backwards again, but the "oblivious" behavior is normal for some dragon random encounters (http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Random_Encounters_(Skyrim)#Complete_list). I believe that unless you hit it dead on with arrows or magic it will make a few passes and then fly off.

Wait so you managed to get the patch if thats so then that would explain alot on why Bethesda kept quiet about all this time cause from what your saying it broke the game more than fix it. Bethesda your a complete bunch of wankers.

Major correction -----PATCH 1.05. I'm sorry for the misinformation.

Maybe backwards is an exaggeration of the flight behavior. But, it sure looked like it. Picture standing behind the actual statue of Azura. The dragon flies with it's tail facing Azura -- ascending on the right side and descending on the left. The body does right itself for the descent. It's more like the animation isn't properly rendered.

:D we did suspect as much.

As you aren't here yelling about a water freeze can we assume you did the uninstall / reinstall as per the patch instructions?

I ask that as the dragons were sorted in an earlier patch, can't say I have seen any instances of them going into reverse after 1.05.

Yes. I uninstalled the game and re-installed from disc and applied the latest patch. I also deleted my save games. And I have no problem in admitting I have used every trick in the book to level up to 58 or 59 prior to starting any quests.

Dawnstar chest?? Guilty as charged. (Enchanting, Alchemy, Smithing)
Difficulty slider?? Guilty as charged (light armor, blocking, heavy armor)
Fortify Restoration Loop?? Guilty as charged.

Makes you really appreciate having access to the command console and wonder why they were too lazy to add it to consoles. DC Universe online makes use of a basic command console for chatting and emotes. I don't want the construction set. I just want the ability to change stats at a whim. Whose to say my guy wasn't the Archmage chased out of Cyrodil for womanizing?? And if it wasn't for that stupid patrol, I'd made it across the border into Skyrim just fine. LOL
