why the dlc doesn't appeal to me

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:19 am

The area of Zion was enough reward for me. I guess it depends on the view of the player on what a good reward is.

If you cant even use words properly, then they hold not validity, making any argument you were trying to set, moot.

and once again noted, you know sometimes it's a lil hard when your native language is not English, and i will try my best to post acording to your internetz writing high standards :cookie:

This. I get DLC for the content. To elaborate: the story, the characters, the area.
The weapons are just a bonus IMO.

but Fo3 didn t have a weapons only pack. Not sure what you re trying to get at. Some sort of Fo3 bash for no reason. Not a very good one though.

Not true, op anchorage and M:Z were weapons packs. Only reason to play them was the guns lolollllllll
(I actually liked both DLCs, sue me)

I'd rather have a good story than new weapons, heck half the reason I like new weapons is because you have to work for them, just giving you good weapons for money cheapens the game and would certainly cause balance issues.

I just got HH today, and I just got to the camp where Joshua Graham is at....the eye candy alone was worth the price of admission. I can't wait to take my time and find every X-ander root, cave and empty bottle in the park.

Did somebody say weapons? Cool. Oh yeah, that .45 is going to be sweet.

Out of all the dlc OA gave us more pre war fo lore than any other. It gave us a look at what the war in alaska vs the chinese may have been like.

It has nothing to do with "internetz writing high standards". All it is is effort and common sense. You can not interchange words in ANY language if they do not mean the same thing. Just like in math, you can not swap out numbers and equations if they do not equal the same thing. It has nothing to do with English. The simple fact is that anyone should understand that "Weak" and "Useless" are not the same thing, as such should not be interchanged as equals.

I personally found fallout 3 more playable hrs wise with much more to explore, but I loved fallout nv for the interesting story, but was and am disappointed it does not call to me to keep playing it, except for the DLC which is superb for my sniper character, the only thing I actually found better in Fallout NV was the animations, and the story ( with the hints at the DLC hidden within it), but I want my Brotherhood and Enclave to live on.

I understand this, I found the nuke launcher to be fun, but useless in 99% of fights, but one would never say it was Weak lol.

... I want more guns then story because you can only go through a story a couple times and actually enjoy it and the fallout nv stories svcked but i liked fallout 3/the dlc a lot

Exploring, loot, atmosphere zomg!

Or then the 80's gamers generation. Back then we didn't have stories in games so we had to make do with gameplay, and it stuck. If i want a story i'll read a book, games i play for their gameplay :hehe:

Not that i would buy a weaponpack DLC, mind you, as a PC player i have all the guns i could ever need. Which reminds me, i have to try that new AK-103 mod...

While I can respect that, I must say that with your words in mind, an RPG is an odd choice.

I'm the opposite - I'll happily settle for no goodies to take away, as long as there's a really engaging and interesting story. I don't think I'd get a simple weapons pack, seeing as there's plenty of weapons in the game already (although I don't play EW characters, and I've heard lots about them not having as much choice).

I agree with everything you say, there are more than enough guns in the game and (obviously in an RPG like Fallout) story is what counts. I also agree with the statement about EW characters, but honestly with some good weapon mods and all of the unique EWs, I find enough variety to keep myself satisfied. EWs are more for people who use the same few weapons throughout the entire game.

He's talking about the FO3 generation, not the game. FO3 brought an annoyingly overwhelming amount of mainstreamers into the world of Fallout, with mainstream requests like "more guns, less story" or "we need a dlc so i can play after the game ends."

To me the dlc isn't worth getting unless you get a lot of rewards by rewards i mean mostly weapons and some armor but i want to know if they could come out with a weapons pack? I would rather get a weapon pack then a short story with a couple weapons im never going to use

Dead Money: The Holorifle, arguably the best energy weapons gun yet, and a potential 400,000 caps worth of loot and prizes.
Honest Hearts: The first piece of armor that adds critical chance in the game, as well as three nice weapons.

Not to mention the new perks and the increased level cap.

Honestly the DLC is kinda piss poor after awhile. The only surprising part was how Mr gram became the most well fleshed out character in the entire game. Also just because I love to ruffle the feathers of the "F3 is not my fallout" crowd. Is this dlc stuff not just an attempt to cram as much [censored] from a design doc from age's ago into the game. It feels more like obsidian is piggy backing on a mythos created by its only talented employee then anything else.

This.

Even though I'm one of the "mainstreamers" that hadn't heard of fallout prior to 3, I find myself more and more in step with the "old school" crowd.

Ok to start of HH is good and i will show you why:
1. DLC'S ARE NOT JUST ABOUT WEAPONS.
2. The story to HH is awesome
3. The Characters are awesome
4. GRAHAM is awesome
5. The weapons are awesome(.45 colt and Thompson, theres others but eh)
6. The atmosphere is great.
7. Great side storys(Randell clark)
8. Creatures are good.

The DLC's are not just about weapons there also about the story...

Too little Ulysses. Too big a tease...

Didn't care much for the guns. Play a quiet character myself so the Silenced 45 was all tat mattered. And all that ever will
