Nvidia lag fix

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:59 pm

Hi all! First, I'll give credits to Knux897 for this little tweak!

i found a way to solve the micro freezes/stutters when moving the camera around in exterior(doesn't happen in interior). I just set "water multisampling" in the launcher options to "low", and now my game is perfect. I also have 260.99 drivers, and i deleted the D3D9.DLL file fix. I run the game in 1280x1024, AAx4, aniso X10, everything else maxed out (except of course the water multisampling option).

I have :
amd X2 3200mhz
9600GT 512mb
2gb of ram
win xp sp3

Works like a charm for me! Instead of doing a max of 30 fps, I do a max of 50-60 fps... (And a minimum of 30!!!). REALLY nice!

Just put "water sampling" to low and were good to go!

Time to shoot some slavers!

What also worked for me is adjusting the following settings directly thru the Nvidia control panel:
Go to "manage 3D settings" hit "global settings"

"Anisotropic Filtering" App. Controlled
"Antialiasing - Gamma Correction" ON
"Antialiasing - Mode" App. Controlled

This gave me a major performance boost. Also with other games :)

Running GTX 295 w latest drivers
I7 920 @ 4,1ghz
6GB DDR 3 @ 1523mhz

Thnx Vortaka for your suggestion, gonna try that in a bit as well.

Great! Are you doing AA & AF through the game or through your video card?

I've got the same card turning gamma correction to on was a great tip. I've always had that off. Thanks for that.

GeForce 9800 GT here. Latest drivers didn't help, and neither did anything else.:( DLL fix only makes it worse for me. My FPS is mostly stuck around 14, occasionally if I alt tab it goes up to 60 but when I resume playing it drops back within 30 seconds. Worse around multiple NPCs of course.

I'm starting to lose hope.
