Why school's fun again.

Then you've never clearly played games at school with your friends.

The only computer game I was able to play at school (on school equipment) was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Oregon_Trail_(video_game) (Apple II version). Yes, I'm that old. :P

The only class I have where I'm using computers is accounting, and the only thing I can really play on those computers is minesweeper.

The real fun of school for me is acting class. At one point, we basically got to do a highly-rehearsed Lord of the Rings LARP, complete with plastic swords and makeshift cloaks. I was Aragorn. Also, improvisation is awesome.

school is fun when:
you want to learn something and especially so if you are allowed to be learning something... instead of being forced to take stuff you don't want
you are allowed free time to chill back between classes, say, 15 minutes, hopefully more, like, an hour
you are allowed time to exercise
you are allowed time to socialize

Last year we had a Tron LAN party during class without the teacher's knowledge. :)

I'm only 22 years old and I'm pretty sure we had Apple II computers in elementary school. Those are the ones with the monochrome green screens right?

This reminds me of when I brought Duke Nukem 3D and installed it on every school computer in the lab. Our teacher, being very old, often let us "work" by ourselves on our projects and left the room. So instead of working, obviously, we played Duke Nukem 3D deathmatch on LAN, Warcraft 1-2 or Starcraft. I also brought Arena because the computer I had at home was too recent to run it properly.

Each time our teacher would catch us playing Starcraft, she'd say : "Stop playing Star Wars!". ^_^
Good times.

The computers would restore the main hard drive to its original structure, so I had to install the games we wanted to play at the start of every class. A bit annoying to do, but it always paid off. :D

School is never fun. NEVER. Apart from the last 2-3 weeks before leaving school.

I always had a blast in the last years. Since I was studying something I loved to do. :P

"The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet"

imo, the roots are so bitter that the taste won't leave your mouth even if it was made of sugar...

Shouldn't school be fun for some reason other than just gaming?

Yes. I think OP is under fourteen. Socialising becomes more fun than gaming in school roundabout that point.

So, in 2010, our school had pretty damn strict restrictions on our computers but this year, they messed them up.

This year is officially the coolest year because we can now play Quake 3 LAN, Morrowind, Halo and Counter Strike.

Lucky, when I was in school the only PC games available was Kings Quest, and some math/spelling game, where if you answered the problem correctly a stick figure would shoot a basketball into a hoop lol Yeah I am old *reaches for cane*

What games??

Whoa! Didn't know that they had those back when you were going to school, considering you're one hundred years old. :P

Unless somebody brought it back from the future. :shifty:

Wow. At my school we couldn't even get on Facebook because the firewall was so strict. That, and there were spies in place on all of our accounts so the system admins could see everything we've done on our accounts, so bringing games to school was a no-go.

Mine was never fun, asides from it being basically one step away from a minimum security prison, each and every lesson plan stressed heavy on tests (stupid TAKS tests), it was grossly over-crowded, the faculty were too damn scared out of their minds from these hoodrat kids to do their jobs, and it wasn't exactly very safe (had a small group attempt to murder me because they thought "it was funny"

Only fun part was an underground Unreal Tournament GOTY edition going on in a well hidden LAN server (undefeated champ)

We try to play the worst flash games possible most of the time as they block them off as alot of students are caught playing them, currently total jerkoff has just been blocked so we've moved onto mariomayhem.com a site full of mario games :D After that it'll probably be Doom . We aren't hard enough to get games like Quake or Morrowind :(
EDIT: I'd just like to point out this is no representation of my school, other than this it is complete bullspit :)
