Why school's fun again.

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 12:33 am

So, in 2010, our school had pretty damn strict restrictions on our computers but this year, they messed them up.

This year is officially the coolest year because we can now play Quake 3 LAN, Morrowind, Halo and Counter Strike.

School is never fun. NEVER. Apart from the last 2-3 weeks before leaving school.

Then you've never clearly played games at school with your friends.

Now that Quake 3 has been leaked through out the school, whenever you search for LAN lobbies, you've got atleast 10 servers going on at once.

This. And I go to college, I've played Halo in the cafeteria on my laptop before.

I don't know why I'm having such a hard time this semester (yes I do, depression, but I don't know the cause of that) but I've just had it rough. My grades in two of my classes are crap, oddly enough one of them is visual basic. I made a 90 on my last program, yet I'm failing. <_<

OP I hope you are in college. You should not be playing games in HS. In college you can do whatever you want, though if you aren't there to learn I don't know why you would pay so damn much to play games. High school is for getting your foundation, not for playing games.

Shouldn't school be fun for some reason other than just gaming?

We play during French and lunch. And I don't think we have colleges, not any close atleast.

I wish we played Quake at school. The only game that spread across the entire school was a flash-based Japanese dating sim... I still shudder about it to this day.

Back at my high school when I was still a student they played Counter Strike and network games of Chess in the original computer repair classes, andin my CISCO class they setup a LAN to play Starcraft on rather than doing actual work.

Nice, I don't think the computers from my high school would have even been able to play any of those games. Maybe quake and counter strike.

You are playing video games at school...?

That is sad.
School should be fun for different reasons, you should not be able to play games there.

School is never fun. Never was, never will be. I'd rather play games at home or at other people's houses.

School is fun when you get to sleep in until 11 and only stay for a few hours. State testing ftw.

We have CS 1.6 lan matches whenever our teacher lets us also.

Oh gee willikers, your right, sitting in class rooms all day quietly doing repetitive paper work is fun, and when a full day of repetitive paper work and getting talk down to is over, we get to go home and do even MORE repetitive paper work!!!!

*sigh* We got Halo installed in some of our computers too, I've even seen some people play some old N64 games too.

We sometimes play games in my school. (Though its for my networking/computer technician class)

People play Starcraft, Counter Strike and other games that dont require powerful PCs. A good thing about our instructor, he encourages us to find ways around computer security to learn.

Me too, man. My tech teacher last semester had CE on his computers. We all played in big LAN matches on Fridays.

I wish more teachers would teach class outside. I listened more, only problem is when the weather decides to be mischievious.

In computer class we were able to play a few flash games sometimes.
