Fallout 3 Was Released October 10th 2008
The First Patch For Fallout 3 Was December 15th 2008
If That Gives You Any Idea On How Long It Will Probably Take.
Actually it does. Thank You.
Some of us buy games to escape the stress of our jobs. Broken games don't alleviate much.
It really isn't even this. I am a game collector. I have a little over a thousand games scattered between Pong era systems to modern gaming. I always have other games I can play to relieve stress or just entertain. My objection is paying 50 USD for a game that was not functioning which is something that happens only about 1 in every 50 pc games I have bought and even then, I can usually get the game to at least be playable which I can't with this one (I timed how long it took to walk from the Doctor to the Saloon, took me nearly 10 minutes due to lag and FPS drops.)
Just play the game and shut TFU.. Seriously, patch it yourself. Bethesda owes you squat. The game is awesome and it's playable and there will be patches.
This kind of statement confuses me. I can't play it, hence why I am here. He obviously can play it and came into this section of the forums only to insult and curse....why?
Patches are being worked on, so, unless you report some problems in a useful manner, threads like this won't help the situation and don't solve your problems. I understand it's frustrating, but patience is needed.
You have a point here. Perhaps this will help,
the PC is a Quad Core I7 800 series chip-set with 1.73GHZ per chip and 3GHZ when I push them.
The video card is a GTX 260M with Direct X11
I run 8GB or ram using the new 1333MHZ model
The OS is windows 7 64 bit
Now I was told the problem involves an incompatibility with the direct X 11 (Hence why that .dll fix works for many) However I have Fallout 3 on this machine and minus the occasional lock up when I play Mothership Zeta, It gives no problems on it. I did try resetting the Direct X controls to manual, I tried running it through Windows XP on a partitioned drive, I tired the .dll fix, toggle emotions, and putting the video card to max performance all of which failed to make any noticeable difference.
The only success I had was I ran the game on my older computer Which is a Dual Core (First Generation) with a old ATI 1400 Mobile in her and Windows XP. That one ran the game fairly smoothly but it crashed every few minutes making it still unplayable (Though I was able to see the Doctor's words match his face movements at least). Now this may indicate that the problem for me is not the video card but rather incompatibilities in the changes made to the game engine with more modern machines. (The crashes on the old machine I attribute more to Steam then anything else because all games that ran through Steam crash all that computer all the time including the simple ones like Portal).
I have also noticed the game seems to have a taxation limit built into it. The game never utilizes more then 2 cores (Nor does it tax them to maximum performance) and I can't seem to figure out which ini file controls that. It also will not take more then 3 GB of the memory even in Ultra mode. Again if this can be fixed, it might fix some of the problems.
Has anyone else noticed these things or run scans of computer power usage when the game is running?
