Sorry, this kind of annoyed me. Generals of old grouped soldiers up like that in order to get mass behind that position. It's all about throwing as many bullets down range as you can, and when the machine gun replaced the traditional open field line fight in WWI, then a whole style of combat became obsolete. The only alternative that could be used was guerrilla warfare, but that usually required repeating weapons and the defender's advantage in order to pull off.
Actually line fighting was obsolete well before the machine gun. Cartridge ammo and rifling saw to that as early as the Civil War if not sooner. Fact is, the high cost of life in the Civil War can be directly blamed on the melding of that old tactic and the new technology facing off. Even during the revolutionary war we had several units using guerilla strikes to their advantage; something we took from our indian counterparts truthfully.
This style is very familiar to Wolfenstein and Quake Wars. Both games took multiple shots to down an enemy and it was perfectly fine with me. I think you need to just play the game before you start worrying about things like this.
Sorry, thats completely stoned-headed logic. I worry before a game comes out becuase it takes my money to play it. If you want me to use your money, fine, wont have a worry in the world. I know its just 60 bucks but its still a risk vs reward concept and I must know if I will be rewarded for my risk and we wont have anoth Gears fiasco.
