This just from my observations from youtube videos I have watched about dead money and some of the forum complaints here and xboxlive forums. The people that made most of those videos seemed to be the run and gun types. Basically FPS gamers, not RPG gamers,
You also have the group of gamers that are the instant gratification types and would rather have a target shooting type of game. kill something, get loot, rinse repeat.
seems like more and more gamers don't want to have to think when playing a game. thats part of the reason some don't like dead money.

I'd say the opposite - the limited ammo and collar stop it from being a "run 'n' gun" experience. I'd say the game focuses on survival - you have to plan ahead, conserve your health (especially with the clouds, even more so in hardcoe mode), and most of all - - pay attention - - If you approach the DLC as a straight up FPS you probably won't get very far. The characters are very well written (one is my favourite out of all the NV companions), and paying attention will also net you some info relating to the NV gameworld and possible future DLCs. Don't buy if you aren't going to pay attention to what characters say, or if you just want to run through the whole thing dispensing bullets. The loot's good, but I found the story more than enough to be worth the purchase - the theme of "letting go" is weaved brilliantly throughout the whole of the DLC. There are problems - for instance, I think the ghost people could've been given a bit more personality - but I wouldn't say "not having to think when I play" is one of them.
Just my opinion, obviously - but I enjoyed it a lot, and I never play FPS's, as I find them a bit boring :tops:
