Tired of restarting because you messed up your skills?

If you're tired of restarting the game because you realized that you put chose the wrong SPECIAL, put your skill points in the wrong place, didn't take the perks you wanted, etc, here's your answer!

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35533

I've created an excel spreadsheet that lets you plan out your character and see how he/she is going to turn out, I just put this up tonight so if you find any miscalculations or things that need changed, let me know but I think it's fairly accurate.

v1.4 - Fixed calculations in Added and Current skill point columns that were referencing the wrong cells.

v1.3 - Fixed AP calculations for multiple ranks of Action Boy and DT calculations for multiple ranks of Toughness. Minor cleanup

v1.2 - Changed the layout, fixed Good Natured/Heavy Handed traits

v1.1 - Fixed HP calculation (forgot the 5HP/level)

v1.0 - intial Character Creation worksheet

Also, it's quite possible to get 4000 caps at level 1 and get your intelligence implant before you level. This is how I do it:

**Try to not discover locations as you get 10xp everytime you do this**

1. Run up north to the east of Goodsprings Cemetary
2. Keep running past all the Giant Radscorpions behind and past the shack with the cross near it
3. Keep going north til you come on Sloan and run across the street without entering Sloan
4. Go up the hill across from Sloan and stick to the side to avoid discovering Hidden Valley and head north walking down through a set of dunes with bark scorpions
5. Keep running til you see the big patch of mottled ground in the Deathclaw valley at which point stick to the mountain to the east and sneak up the cliff
6. Sneak all the way around the mountain until you're away from the Deathclaws and then run North and around the west side of the strip until you read North Freeside Gate
7. Go in Freeside and go to the Atomic Wrangler and gamble til you hit at least 4000 caps
8. Head out the North Freeside Gate around to the north east corner where the New Vegas Medical Clinic is and go get your Intelligence Implant.

Can still be done like you'd cheat in any other 360 game. Not as easy as opening the console and typing a sentence, but still easy.

How would you go about doing this?

I do not own a 360, but I believe it requires a modded console, which lets you modify running memory values like you'd normally do in a PC game with say, cheatengine, tsearch or other memory editors, commonly used to make PC game trainers.

Tried opening this in Zoho Viever (I don't use Microsoft Office), but apparently Zoho doesn't have all the little triggers that makes your sheet work since alot of it (dropdown menus for perks/traits) don't work.

Do you know if this would work in OpenOffice?

Some of us don't want to use the console. Myself included, i dont touch it at all it feels like cheating to me even if its to switch around some skills.

From one Excel geek to another. Awesome spreadsheet!

There are typos in two of the formulas, the skill points alotted counter for "Added" and the "Current" points are referencing the "O" column instead of "N" column and not doing the math.

Fix those and this would be perfect! :)

This save me lots of work....

I manage to pull off (with all books read)100 in Guns, Medicine, Repair, Science, Survival and Unarmed; Lockpick stay at 95 with Utility wear for 100. Followed by Energy Weapon and Sneak at 90.

Now I just have to organize the prefect leveling trip.......

You really shouldn't use modav, setav is far far safer. In addition to the fact that negative modav has been known to crash the game, it can also bug your stats.

I'm going to play with this tonight. I'll let you know if i see any gaps in utility. My biggest issue is that on my first play through, I can't really tell how quickly I can generate 4000 caps for my intel augmentation and what level I'll be at when I do it. At least now I know to save them pretty aggressively.

It can be done on lvl 1 , take a straight path to vegas and gamble for the cash , its possible to get all implants at lvl1.

I've updated this, changed the way it looks, and fixed a few errors/things I was missing when I first released so feel free to take another look and see if this helps you out. Thanks for all comments so I can make sure it's working well for me and everyone else.

I could actually go and make a quick VB app that can calculate everything, including perk requirements.

The bonus being it's not a spreadsheet :P

Yes, well, I've never done any programming before. However since I do have tons of time on my hands, reading this has convinced me to try to teach myself and convert this into a program. Guess I'll see how that turns out.
