hardcoe.....

Post » Sun Mar 27, 2011 3:57 am

I have one complaint about hardcoe mode and that's that you can't heal your limbs. It takes like 5 doctor bags to heal your limbs to full ( with 25 Med skill) and doctor bags are quite expensive. Now I know I can just spend 50 caps on a doctor but I hate limping half way across the map. Anyone have any advice to help me enjoy hardcoe mode? Please I might be misunderstanding something.

use fast travel unless you are specifically not using it.

This.

I think the only time you can't fast travel is when enemies are nearby, or if in the amount of time it would have taken you to get to your destination, you'd have died of starvation/dehydration/deprivation. Once you've found a location, you can quick travel to it if you don't want to take the scenic route at 1 mph.

I was going to not use fast travel at all but I should just swear to only use it in crippled situations. Thanks by the way I feel dumb for not thinking of that.

I love this. I wish fast travel was not allowed in hardcoe mode either. I never use it.

Same here. I just do not use it, but it should be disabled in HC. Although many may disagree.

I disagree with disabling Fast Travel in HC. It would be very time consuming.

Just an opinion.

Eh, there's no real reason to disable fast travel in hardcoe. People who don't find it realistic enough for their tastes won't use it, and people who don't care will. It's better to give everyone the option.

I think what you're misunderstanding is that the frustration you're feeling is all part of playing hardcoe. It's not supposed to be easy. And keep in mind that things like this will become easier once you've spent some points on the skill associated with them. That's because it's a reward for investing in skills. It it wasn't hard in the first place there'd be no reason to invest in the skills.

To me, what you describe sounds like it's working exactly the way it should. When I play F3 I impose my own hardcoe mode where when I get crippled limbs I force myself to endure them until I gimp back to town to be healed by a doctor.

This is of course no help to you whatsoever. But perhaps hardcoe mode isn't for you.

I couldn't agree more with you, I play on hardcoe and for the first time ever in the fallout series, I had to run away from a creature. The Heavily armored radscorpions. I was mauling it and was getting fustrated, I jumped to the forums and you made me relize that instead of getting fustrated and engaging until death, I simply ran away to safety. Maybe I can come back when my skills have been adjusted.

Same here. Well- not the first time in the FO series as I remember doing it in 1 and 2, but never in 3.

How do you make camp? Is it possible? Do I have to find a bed to sleep?

Sleeping in a bed shouldn't heal your limbs. It was silly in Fallout 3 that it did. Sleep 1 hour, all is well. It was practically a cheat.

Ok I can explain.. Your doing it wrong.

Its only crippled as in totaly busted parts that cant be healed so as soon as the doctors bag has healed eveything a bit your good to go healing everything else with whatever you have on you or I assume sleep still heals at some rate even in hardcoe?
