I'm glad european games come out later

For once i'm glad european games come out later. This game was a must have for me, but after all the issues i saw on this forum and many other i'm going to definately avoid it, especially as windows 7 64bit user. They should have never given this game to obsidian. Obsidian is one HUGE fail. Every game i had from them had huge problems. KOTOR 2 FAIL which caused the end of the series, neverwinter nights 2 fail, Apha Protocol fail they don't even bother patching it, and now New Vegas is obviously another of their failures. This guys should never make serious games, internet flash games maybe....

*sigh* *sigh* and one more *sigh*. Try to check facts about the game development history on those games before posting 'FAIL' threads.

Fallout: New Vegas is a big game, just as Fallout 3 was. If you expected it to be bug/glitch free, then obviously you have no concept of gaming. If this was a tiny and crappy game like MW2, or any other game that is one path, then yeah, it's less likely to be buggy. Usually, the bigger the game, the bigger chance of bugs somewhere in the game.

So instead of forming your own opinion on the game AFTER playing it. Your forming it based on the people shrieking bloody murder?

To play this game i would have to buy it, based on my previous experience with obsidian games and what i'm seeing on forums i'm definately not risking my money here.

Yet another one of those filthy threads. Obsidian upgraded (slightly indeed) some of the faults of F3 and you can't see that other than playing.

Always remember: game forums will be full of negative posts at launch. Everyone who can play frequently has no need to be on the forum as they are busy playing the game, not to mention that the relative ratio of players to posters is small. Yet, those with problems will find their way here.

This naturally skews the forums towards those having problems.

And Alpha Protocol is the best game I've played all year :P It wasn't without issues, mind you, but the story, dialogue and gameplay choices and general gameplay made up for that more than enough.

I wouldn't quite say that he needs to play it to wonder about the quality of the game. Especially when there is a http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1122516-what-is-your-experience-like-buggy-bug-free-minor-issues/page__mode__show that shows that many people are experiencing bugs.

As far as whether or not Fallout New Vegas is better or worse than FO3 in terms of bugs/glitches I couldn't say yet as I don't have my copy yet. However, if I was the OP I would also be wary when a majority of users are experiencing bugs and also only in the sense of possibly purchasing a later version that would be patched.

Uhh.. considering it's the Oblivion engine same as FO3, a 6 year old engine, you would think major issues like crashes would have been sorted out well before release. You can't defend this game like a totally brand new game, so major bugs on release are even less understandable then normally.

That being said however, the problem isn't with Obsidian, their name is the only reason I bought NV. Because Bethesda really has no concept how to make good RPG's in many peoples opinion. Regardless of the hot reviews because of the open play and graphics, the actual story, dialog, and other RPG elements of Oblivion felt like the OLD D&D gold box games. Even FO3 was well behind the times. Since NV uses the same engine still the dialog is still a bland, ask everything unlimited and lifeless conversation. But the game concepts and character management seem to be much better so far.

Bravo, saying such things on a forum where almost everyone loves this game. Dont call something a FAIL in a post which is obviously going to be a FAIL.

Here here! Mass Effect 1 had a load of problems yet it was touted as game of the year. It's a shame AP hasn't gotten more love because it is a wonderful game. It's also a shame Sega didn't allow a patch. Hopefully, one is leaked sometime but I fear it won't.

I challenge the op to name any open world game that didn't have bugs at launch. I'm frothing at the mouth to finally be able to boot up FNV. I'm going to be an antisocial dork on Friday night and play to the wee hours of the morning.

3 days later is almost an irrelevant amount of time. If it came out 3 MONTHS later, then yeah I would agree with you, because that's enough time for patches.

Still.... I'm a Fallout fan, so I would buy the game regardless. Other people's bug reports don't bother me, especially PC bug reports (people talk about bugs in FO3 but I never experienced them, personally)

LOL
"many peoples opinion" is something vague
There are even more who consider Bethesda makes good rpg's and you can see that in sales.

i met only 1-2 bugs since i started playing and i dont find them frustrating that much. The quest seem harder than fallout 3 though and that gets me frustrated alot but the game is still awesome and i think obsidian did a great job with it.

I disagree, I would rather have it sooner other than later.

I don't mind dealing with bugs/glitches in fact I find it more fun.

Yeah.. and how many people buy the same sports game year after year... Most people are stupid.

I'm dead serious though, the story and dialog in Oblivion was no better then the ancient D&D games, the D&D games were good for their time, but we're talking early 90's!

FO3 was a little better then Oblivion but it was still a lame story, a terrible ending and very sterile dialog.

Compare FO3 and even NV to the story telling of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Hell even Assassins Creed has better storytelling and it's not even an RPG. Just having voice acting really isn't good enough any more. Conversation have to be more real, not the sterile 'ask options 1-4, then say goodbye' stories have to pull you in more and make you think, wow that one conversation actually changed the game.

Edit: as for being vague... would you rather I throw up some totally bogus stat like so many others pulling numbers out of the butts? I can say for a fact this is my opinion of it, I've had many other people agree with me in that opinion, and talking to people that loved the game they also admitted things like dialog could have been better but they loved the open ended aspect of the game. Well being open ended isn't always best for a story, and to many RPGs are about story... not player houses that have actually no impact on gameplay what so ever.

Lolwut?

I've got to admit, I'm kind of seeing the OP's point (kind of) While as above posters have noted, the staggered release probably isn't big enough for patches to be released, this has given me time to read up on helpful hints, such as clearing the cache on the 360. I'll still be getting it, but I am glad I wasn't one of the first where everyone seemed to be in the same confused boat (or off happily playing and ignoring the forums, obviously:) )

I've favourited three threads in anticipation of problems. The Steam install and saves issues, being two, and the FPS drop around NPCs which is speculated as being attributed to the facial animations. I understand the OPs apprehension completely, but PC gamers are hardy folk and the US/Canadian gamers, and community mods are rapidly conjuring workarounds and fixes and solutions. So three days may not be enough time to actually see an official patch (though I've heard there've been Steam updates, whether that's been for Steam or FNV I dunno), but it's certainly enough time to have access to ready solutions on the day of the launch. Thanks cousins across the pond. :)

I'll tempt the gremlins by saying... Bring it! BOOM! HEAD SHOT!

Whoa, I too thought like this mate after the series of disatisifying games they have made in the past and I thought that when they took on the Fallout series it too would be subject to problems. However from what I saw it looks really good and they seem to have put A LOT of effort so give them a break. I'm sure Bethesda wouldn't have let them take the reigns if they thought for one second it was going to go wrong and hurt them. Just wait a while and you're mind may yet change :foodndrink:

I still like to play Trespasser every now and then, so whatever the bug may be, I think I can handle it :) I'm sure it will be worth it!
