Problem with PipBoy and Shortcuts

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 7:30 am

Hey there,

since today all work fine but now I got a big problem: I can't use my Pipboy (TAB) or my Shortkeys (for Weapons or Ammo Change).
I don't know what happened. In a older Ssvegame it works fine, but the problem ist I don't save often in extra slots, mostly i take a Quicksave...

Got a lots of work in this character, would be nice any1 could help...

Kind Regards
Siloxis

Here's the workaround for the hotkeys assignments:

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1136139-ctd-on-hotkey-assign-fix/

If you can't access the pipboy at all, you might want to try the console command:

ResetPipboyManager

I have never used this command but according to the http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/ResetPipboyManager it allows you to use the pipboy, usually after equiping it but there could be a bug where yours is acting like it isn't equipped.

If not, you can try adding then equiping your pipboy in the console:

player.AddItem 15038 1
player.EquipItem 15038
ResetPipboyManager

and then you can try to add the glove if it doesn't show up:

player.AddItem 25B83 1
player.EquipItem 25B83

Again, I'm not sure any of this will work but I hope it does. I don't usually do a lot w/ item manipulation in the console. I'm piecing this together from the console commands list:

Do you have any HUD/UI display (health, compass, etc) or is your display gone?

Ok, let's see if this one works. It's a recommendation from GStaff:

1) Open Steam
2) Right click on Fallout: New Vegas
3) Hit Properties
4) Click the "Local Files" tab
5) Click on "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"

If that doesn't work, delete your ini files and repeat steps 1-5
