A lack of songs

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:27 am

i have a theory . . .

all the tracks that were played on GNR were original songs made for the game

"all" the tracks (all 4 of them) on mojave radio are actual licensed songs by real artists, thus bethesda had to pay to use them, prob had to pay quite a bit, hence there being a lot less variety

imo they should have stuck with who ever did all the stuff for FO3, i ended up loving most of those goofy songs

All of the tracks from GNR are hits from the 40s, so no.

I haven't heard in a song in FO3 or NV that I didn't already know.

Ugh, this is definitely my chief complaint. Even if I had a game breaking bug, this would still be my numero uno. There are no songs! Really, it's just constant repetition. In one sitting, you probably won't even hear all 10 songs because 4 of them will repeat for hours and hours. It's so terrible, I refuse to use the radio in this game. Now, I don't know what kind of licensing they had to pay for 50's songs, but next time, double it. It is pretty sad. Especially when you compare it with the only other game I can think of that has a radio, which is GTA.

I really wish I had it for PC so I could get a mod for this. I mean, it really svcks.

I agree to the lack of songs so far. Commenting on the kid who found the 40 whatever tracks in the game files for the PC version, they might be played later in the game. I remember playing FO3 and as you progressed in the game, the announcer talked about it on GNR, along with new songs played. So I don't know how far everyone is, I'm level 13 and I believe I have heard a song I have not heard before on the New Vegas Radio, following a news announcement that was relatively new in story.

The wiki shows 15 songs for New Vegas radio. Seems like a short list.

I think the bigger problem is that they are played randomly instead of looped. No radio station would do that; it means you can randomly hear the same song 3 or 4 times in a single hour.

I just play Pandora radio while I'm playing the game and listen to music I like. Honestly, I'm not as big of a fan of fallout: new vegas as I am of fallout 3... I dunno I liked fallout 3 more... anyways...

Mohave Music seems to be doing the same.

Sounds like a bug!

Yes, it does. One of my friends who is playing said he heard "Big Iron" three times in a row.

Yeah, listening to "Big Iron" or "Johnny Guitar" twice in a row is starting to get on my last nerve. I'm looking forward to a mod like the one in F3 that added tons of new songs to the playlist. Unless there is a bug that would cause 4 of any new songs to play endlessly. Please fix this Bethesda (Obsidian)!

I just had the same song three times in a row. And each time after it, Mr New Vegas just had to announce his new X-mas compilation.
Then again, I had Three-Daawwwg announce the same news of that poor kid in the fallout shelter after each of the three subsequent times Civilization played, so that did just not change. Thing is, I can't go out and replace Mr New Vegas with the poor charlady, or can I?

If I hear "Johnny Guitar" EVER again in my life, I'll have a mental breakdown.

I noticed it too, but it must be a bug, because there are 48 tracks in the game.

edit: mind you, even GNR got old quick even if you didn't have the whole 200 "More Where That Came From" extra songs for it.

Yeah, I just check the game's sound files. There are 48 songs in there, and they're all under "sound\songs\radionv\"

There is definitely some king of bug here.

Instead of replacing what's already there in the songs/radionv folder, is it possible to add to it? I'd love to drop in some apporpriate mp3 files from my collection. Does anyone know if the game will integrate them into what's already there?

Bump- anyone know if this is possible? Would solve the problem.

Those 48 songs are distributed among three radio stations, though. Doesn't leave us with less music than in F3. ^_^

I agree, I've loved Big Iron since I was a child but hearing it 3 times in a row is crazy. I really hope they patch this because I'm playing on ps3.
