Weapon camouflage?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:09 am

I believe camo would be fantastic on a gun!(more happy if you can choose) and i would like the idea of being able to choose a primary, secondary, and detail color(though that is very unlikely). And really who cares what the font color is because we all have a color we like and we can all choose to express it in whatever manner we would like. I see no point in having an argument over what color a font is. I'm ok with white so i think i'll stick to white

Camouflage on a secondary would be neat, don't believe I seen that done in another game before. And thanks for the support, but if it seriously bothers people that much I'm willing to compromise for the sake of the community's eyes. Although I still think it's annoyance is greatly exaggerated. =)

Rather off topic, but the weapon customization looks outstanding! There seem to be so many variations, as well as weapons! Incredible!

Agreed, weapon customization itself is great! Looks like it could be deeper than Army of Two's system.

Not gana lie, since you've just used the standard color, i've been able to read your posts w/o getting pissed off... I think it was giving me a migraine...

Anyways... I was happy with the Crysis weapon customization system... but i'm STOKED about Brink and their level of customization (thats actually visible! Resonance of Fate was disappointing, i wanted to see my 11 scopes and 9 barrels on my SMG)

So much customatization it makes you wonder what in this game won't be customizable?

For sidearms I think silencers, magazine expansions and possibly colours are the most they should have, things like scopes and stocks etc. would be overkill. The more the better for primary weapons though I think.

Well I'm glad we can put our differences behind us, although your migraine is probably psychological.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the weapon system in Crysis (perhaps I will be eventually with the sequel being released on the consoles), but Army of Two allows you to swap out barrels and stocks, even going so far as letting you to put a http://www.damonx.com/images/ps3-army-of-two7.jpg on the end of your weapon. =O

I don't want sidearms to get totally shafted, personally. I mean, they don't need sniper scopes or drum magazines (hmm...drum magazines...), but I still think there should be more to them than just silencers and iron sights.

BioShock had an interesting take on an extended revolver magazine, seen http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091203232303/bioshock/images/4/4b/Pistol_b.png. =)

I just looked at the one you found, it wouldn't be so bad if they only had like 3 of the barrell things (I don't know the name) instead of like 50.

Ridiculous? Perhaps. Badass? Yes. =)

BioShock's version is just more more logical.

The super revolver, for when you want to kill dozens of people without reloading. :disguise:

I would love to see some more sights on pistols. I just don't like iron sights all around...

I've always thought that red dot on pistols is overkill, but I may be bias since I love iron sights, being that's what I use for my own competitive shooting matches. I'm definitely not against adding them though, for the simple fact of adding more variety. =)

While I certainly wouldn't be opposed to the idea, faction based ought to be a must. But the new Brink customization videos, as well as several pictures, you can see the guns colored in various ways, which is just as good, if not the same thing.

To at least partially satisfy you, I'm sure the two sides get completely different options to choose from.

I know this topic is old. But I used the search function.

Would be cool if they just gave you a bunch of camos and gave you a color wheel so you could select the pattern and the color.

And the pre order packs could come with specials patterns and colors.

Idk about camouflages but they talk about challenges unlocking certain clothes and and hair styles and what not, so i dont see why some of those cant be weapon skins. with the preorder stuff you can see that they somewhat have that feature included, thats just my opinion

At the very least, the DOOM and Fallout preorder packs have gun skins based on their respective games.

I personally like the idea of being able to design additions to the standard sets of anything i.e patches be they clan or player oriented for clothes, slightly re-coloured or tagged skins for weapons etc. for that personal/group identity option but it's all good really, just something that sounds like a good idea in a a character customisation heavy game such as BRINK. I mean this in a broader sense than just modifying camo colours.
