It's been confirmed that New Vegas is single player only, there is no multiplayer option and there is a thread somewhere in Fallout Series General for multiplayer (non-mmo) disscussion.

Personally I'd say no.

and there's a discussion on multiplayer http://http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/976152-fallout-multiplayer-discussion-thread/ in the Fallout Series section of the forum.

I said it before, I say it again, there needs to be a official, tagged thread that tells people there won?t be multi player in Fallout New Vegas and links to the above thread, there is simply to much request for it for the moderators to go thread lock hunting each and every one.

The Fallout series has always fostered a deliberate feeling of desolate isolation, and you'd think that multi-player with buddies would really throw a monkey wrench into that.

It was always meant to be a single player experience. This has always been always apparent, and I never had doubts...
Until some brilliant chaps worked out a nifty way to have Multi-player work in Fallout 2 ; I gave it a spin, and it soon convinced me that my earlier opinion was a bit rushed, and closed minded ~and entirely correct. :P

I said no for reasons stated above. Some games just simply should not have an online mode.
