Back to the question, I too was dissapointed that companions will not wear particular armor, fortunately I'm playing on pc, so mod here I come.

Cass looks great in Raider Sadist and, if I recall correctly, Painstake(?) armor. Those allows her to show a bit of skin without making her look too much like an exhibitionist - and additionally provides a bit of protection at DT 4 (which I've modded to 6), and goes great with her cowboy hat.

Yeah it's really worthless they did this awesome adjustment to Boone where you can freely remove his apparel, and yet they decided not to use it on Cass and Veronica. Greatly limits the companion variation in my opinion.

I would really like to put certain clothes on my companions, even if they are worse then what they wear already...

I hope there will be mod to fix this, I'd rather hear their objections and they reluctantly accept. I really wanted them to wear legion and NCR armor and also I wish we could get them to wear regular clothes like roving trader and its a big smack for me that Veronica will still wear those rags even though shes wants to wear a nice dress, even in the strip, what she afraid she'll rip it? Don't worry Veronica I can kill another gambler to repair it.

You could try to get Sony to allow player mods. The odds of success are about as good.

I just want them to wear fancy clothes. (I like to roleplay on the strip, as a rich man)

But when all they wear is rags or armour... i feel out of place with them.

I mainly just want to remove that stupied cowboy hat Cass wears. Don't much car about the clothing part though.

I'm not sure you can get Veronica to wear the dress. She will squee when you give it to her and teach you how to punch but she doesn't wear it at least she doesn't for me. There are actually 2 dresses but they look the same and are easily acquired by doing missions on the strip.

There are several, things like Pre-War Parkstroller Outfit are also considered dresses for her. You don't get the punch training unless you give her Formal Wear though.
