Legion stormed Forlorn Hope

Post » Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:23 am

Nah I was on the 360 so even if I had reloaded the only way for me to make a video is with my 2007 mobile phone.
Wouldn't be worth it since the quality would be so [censored]. :P
But yeah if someone experience these weird glitches then make a video of it and share here. ^^,

This is nowhere as awesome, but the other day I was entering Nelson to rescue the hostages (and rub it in that ranger's face; you know, the one who calls you by name) and out of nowhere a lone, nameless NCR grunt shows up and proceeds to shoot the hell out of the occupying 'army' (5 or 6 guys in skirts). I just followed him around and lent cover fire. When it was all over he said something about the Legion wiping out his patrol and being afraid to 'go out there'. I wanted to make him a companion on the spot. Kid should get a medal.
Of course, I took all the credit.

I've seen small groups of Legionaries spawn inside Camp Forlon Hope occasionally, but never that many. They always get butchered by the PA wearing heavy :shakehead:

Yeah, same here. Legion are definitely scripted to show up there now and then, but I've never had that many show up either - so either a glitch w/numbers or some chr. lvl/story point thingie alters the numbers, perhaps. Sounds like fun tho...I love big npc battles. :D

the only remotely random thing ive seen, is just south of the ranger station (the one that dies eventually). The normal Legion target (the NCR patrol) went off to fight an animal, so I saw them attack a couple of Convicts across the road!

Holy [censored], around 25 NCtRoopers just rolled down the hill at Nelson attacking it.
If this is a glitch then I gotta say that it's a freaking awesome glitch! :D

Its not epic, they spawn there every time you fast travel or walk to Forlorn Hope, for obvious reasons 15 legion soldiers spawning there every three days and hurting/killing the soldiers that most often don't heal is NOT cool. Eventually it results in basically the entire camp being wiped of NCR troops including one of the only ways to get rid of those undroppable NCR tags if you're not working for the legion, not to mention the extreme framerate drop that comes with 30+ NPCs all fighting it out at once has frozen my 360 on numerous occasions, this needs to be fixed ASAP.

I've missed out on several quests because I can't go to the camp any more without risk of the NCR troops dying due to all the legion troops attacking. It would be different if the legion troops were charging up the hillside and NCR troops were rushing to fend them off but its not, they all spawn at once right in the middle of the camp and lay waste to it, I never had this problem before so I'm guessing that this issue developed with the last patch.

IF you happen to be far enough into the game there are heavy troopers and of course first recon guys that easily defeat the Legion troops but if you're on a new game prepare for everyone there to die unless you're enough of a beast to defend all of them.

Well since I hate NCR and couldn't give a crap of how many quests I lose for them I consider it pretty damn epic.

This wasn't a glitch, I walked into Forlorn and I saw 10 Legionaries fight off 20 NCR.

The Legion won, and I just stared in shock.

Well your thread title didn't have the "Pow!" that my thread title had. :P
All about attracting people.
So "Legion stormed Forlorn Hope" is gonna get quite a couple of more hits than "Very annoying bug". ;)

yes this always happens to me, recall the quest for BoS. when you have to tell the recruits the bear is shtting in the woods or whatever. any way the one near that camp he says they have skirmishes but neither go for the WIN basically. nothing special if you ask me....also after you talk to him you can look down the cliff and see this. if you have boons he will attack onsite when talking to the recruit< this happened to me

This is indeed a serious glitch which I am working to find a solution. Nelson is having similar issues. None of this happened to me prior to DM with over 200 hours easy and I am sure they are related to the DM DLC. I had to revert back to a really early save as it blocked me from completing "Still in the dark" on a new character build I made for DM and the other upcoming DLC. I also posted this in the PS3 DLC technical forum in hopes of the Devs doing something soon, hopefully before the next DLC drops. Obviously its not console specific. I have 3 completed characters I am going to see if the issue crops up before doing DM or if it just happens after you finish.

PLayed around with 2 other near complete characters that haven't done DM yet. All areas are accessible and it looks like you might need to go to the troubled areas before going to the Sierra Madre. I left alot of things undone before going there on my newest build and that just might be the problem. I like my old guys but as much as I liked DM not really itching to run through it again.

one thing I haven't tried is wiping out the Legion and Ceaser at their main base first. maybe this will stop the spawning glitch. I'll report back later.
