Dogmeat.

Because it would make perfect sense with "Wild Wasteland"

Such mod was planned for Oblivion, but it was deemed impossible with the limitations of the engine. You can't change textures on the fly between bare and snowy for example, same goes for trees.

  • Would be nice to have a jobs feature which could include courier work for Nash at Primm, caravan guarding at Novac or for Crimson Caravan, pest control at Novac (let Boone and Manny take a day off.), store guard at Van Graffs. (Of course this would require a lot more work than the others.)

You can be store guard at the van graffs

A fuc*ing giant workshop for my character. A landing strip with giant warehouses and hangars full of ruined/scrap aeroplanes and building materials. Different testing areas for guns, something like the buildable robots mod which is epic. My own deathclaw reserve. My own prison full of raiders/fiends/powder gangers and cages full of animals and an arena where I make then fight to the death. My own training room, basically a vault full of robots/turrets that I have to fight my way through in under a minute. A nuclear test site with one of those model towns like in Indiana jones xD. A small but well renovated town with a bank with a large incentive to rob it, but it would take planning and wouldn't be easy. A f*ckload of slaves to follow me around. BETTER AI FOR ENEMIES SOMEHOW SO THEY DON'T CHARGE OUT INTO THE OPEN SO WE CAN HAVE PROPER GUNFIGHTS. JESUS. I'd make extremely overpowered weapons like an automatic gauss rifle-like thing (that I made earlier) and distribute them to all the locals and watch xD. An area to the north with wild tribes that use throwing spears, poison and dart guns where nobody ever comes out a live :o. A GIANT area of desert literally nothing except the very odd plant and full of scorpions etc with a giant pyramid in it full of advanced ancient technology ;)

I know, but you can only be that for one quest, then you can't take that job again.
I mean that one should be able to take that job whenever one wants to to earn caps.

-Dice games in the casinos.
-A full new town with a couple more casinos in them. One based on Excalibur, one with an Arabian theme.
-More companions like Veronica, Cass, and Boone.
-Better energy weapons.
-Random encounters.
-More Fallout style humor, like Festus.
-Water bottling.
-Backpacks you can buy.
-More player housing options.

More dis-honest NPC. I found most people in the wasteland fairly honest with very very few trying to scam you, when have you been sent somewhere on a quest just to find a trap/ambush waiting? Or traveling traders who sell you weapons which when you try to use simply break on the first shot dispite the condition. Or a bar that if you drink at you find yourself waking up in the middle of the desert with a few caps missing. the list can go on, I think this would deffinatly add a new element to the game, make things a bit more unexpected, and make you alot more weary about who you trust.

I also think that if people like the legion 'kill' you in a random encounter, you should be kidnapped instead, which basiclly means you wake up in an outpost, stripped of your weapons etc have to do a small mini game like lockpick to untie yourself, and have to fight your captors with whatever you can find before you can get the key to your possessions.

If I could do whatever and add whatever I wanted to in Fallout New Vegas, I would somehow, I dont know how in Gommorah's name I would make that (get things to build with), but I would build New Kirkenes, a city with ME as its sherrif and mayor, just north of the strip and New Vegas, right before the mountains, making casino's, hotels, clubs, bars, town hall and you name it. First of course, I would have hired, maybe the Boomers and the Great Khans to help me clear out the area and build, and then hire Michael Angelo (dont remember his real name) to make signs and stuffs, and many smaller ones to put out in the Wasteland so people get to know the city, and come there to settle, and with Boomer's explotion skills, and the Great Khans.... umm...skills I wouldnt have any trouble with outlaws :D I would have buildt stadiums for football/soccer or other sports, and make other Wastelanders get interested, so it could have been things like "1st March 2282 4pm, New Kirkenes United vs. The NRC Giants at Mojave Stadium!" oh I could talk about this all day and night, but whats the point when it aint gonna happend, or ANYTHING like it, but, this tread is just for fun as said, and this is fun just talkin about this:D

Of Course, this will mean new characters, alot of caps, new companions, Texas Hold em and other fun card games, more items, well, if someone who works with DLC's and those things, please look at this and THINK, think about the great fun :D

I agree with mad hatters that there should be more to do with the trains. There are railroad tracks all over the place and a train hold up or chase or something like that would be fun. Or getting a train network set up.

I also want to ride the roller coaster in Primm. Yee-haw!

Although I haven't finished the game yet, I would like to help aid the Super Mutant cause, whether it be for bad or good.

Or,

Gather quests. Similar to Red Dead Redemption. It would make for some good time to waste.

Some more of the visual gags and mini stories that where common in FO3, all though the dinki vs teddybear knife fight was worth the game alone imo.

Right - I'd want the ability to add/write my own dialogue for conversations, not just passerby-greetings (which are pretty stupid imo, usually very out of context). Obviously it wouldn't be audio like the original game, but it would be fun to give people/places more depth by making almost every NPC a conversation opportunity, and if a little quest can be created in geck then that could be added to the dialogue. I like the idea of hiding quests deep within dialogue so, only after a lot of responses and probably some sort of skill check, the task the npc needs help with (or whatever) shows up.

You could certainly do that with the GECK, and write quests - this requires writing scripts so if you've no experience of programming/logic type thing you'd want to set aside a bit of time with a good GECK scripting tutorial. It's not hugely difficult (I've done a little bit in Morrowind and Oblivion just for my own use) but what causes many projects to fail or authors to lose enthusiasm is that it can be quite tedious and it's easy to have ideas for a big project and then give up when you realise how much work it will be! So the best advice is to start small, work on 1 NPC or 1 shack or 1 quest at first and see how it goes :)

ETA: I forgot to answer the thread, I would add some things for flavour, more terminals and notes with pre-war stuff on them and telling little stories about peoples' lives, stuff like that.

I would make a town called "Newer Vegas Strip". It would be full of people that got pissed because they couldn't afford to get into the strip. It would be full of people trying to make another strip (but failing miserably) They would have make-shift casinos full of broken slots, nasty women, and terrible performers.

But the big thing I would like to see is changing the weight of people. I want to see a fat rich slob owning a casino and a beggar outside of it with his bones showing.

A more lively slum area outside the strip with plenty of poor people struggling to survive and gangs controlling different areas. Would definitely make the place more habitable with multi-floor tenements and stores for trade etc. Have more people living in abandoned buildings in the outlying areas or at least give them a reason for being abandon perhaps due to a uncatchable ancient Deathclaw which has been terrorizing the outer boundaries of the slums for decades.

Ooo nice! This would definitely add some stark imagery with powerful symbolism of the selfish rich and suffering poor. A reflection of the land itself.

I would like to find the courier who bailed on the job. That guy is directly responsible for me getting shot in the head and I for one would like to return the favor.

Aside from that, I'd put abandoned missile silos all over the place. You know the "doomsday contingency" kind that pop out of a dog house or something equally crazy.

I would expand the town of Goodsprings by creating house cells and opening up the boarded up houses to those cells. I would also place extra NPCs into the town to make it lively, and give those NPCs their own custom voice acting with a quest attached to them that the player could complete. Then I would also create a couple of new areas like a new cavern for the town or something...

Oh wait. I did.
