You should enjoy it. I personally think Fallout 3 is better, but New Vegas is still worth the buy.

Can't comment on Divinity as I haven't played it, but what you described doesn't really relate to how I've seen Risen work on the box - then again, I haven't played it on the box myself just seen it being played (and even if I had, give me any Xbox game - barring some fighting and racing games - and I'll tell you it doesn't work right because I can't handle the controller :laugh:).

Oh, and on topic... Yes, you should buy New Vegas. The story, general writing and the other improvements are enough to warrant the similiarity to Fallout 3 in core design - at least for a few runthroughs.

Do yourself a favor and grab Divinity II, the new one that just came out.

Have to check it out at some point.

I find NV a lot more compelling than Fo3, maybe it's because of some of the characters and the truly black tails they have to tell or maybe it's because of the variation - you never quite know what you'll find behind the next door, molerat or legendary deathclaw, or over the next hill or in the next conversation.

As for play time, my 1st char was at 60 hours when I decided to take one last trip around the map. 20 hours later, no kidding, my curiosity forced me to see an ending which took another 10 hours! 40 hours on my 2nd char and the game is still throwing surprises my way. As a comparison, Fo3 was good for about 70 hours excluding the DLC which I've yet to start and I never could quite get into a second time around.

I disagree with this. I think the game world in NV is a lot more convincing than that of FO3. Obsidian obviously didn't have the same "theme park" design goals that Bethesda had in FO3, and that's either going to be a good thing or bad thing depending on the player. To me it's a good thing. I liked FO3, but the world felt fake and contrived to me compared to NV's. YMMV.
