Snuffles

What about a giggling baby? Giggling babies are cute.

Babies aren't cute, they're messy, smelly, oddly shaped aliens.

Nah, kids in general tend to be cute maybe around 5 years old. Once they look human and start to be skilled in Terrestrial languages. The Lamplighters are a specific example of children being insanely irritately, and are an exception to the general tendancy.

(Where /did/ all those kids come from... they don't allow outsiders into their community, and they kick people out once they reach advlthood; the implications are unpleasant)

I already assume that rat was pet since it was living in a outpost and all. Heal it, get experiences, felt good.

I recall the mole rats in the mole rat ranch also don't seem to be hostile, but for some reason there was a hostile brahmin there when I found it, that seemed kind of random.

Next to the Doc's place northeast of New Vegas. Killed that brahmin to spare those rats and its meat was mighty tasty.

I agree.

However, Snuffles is only cute in the way that a pug is cute. An animal that is so ugly that you have no choice but to like it.

Like? Don't you mean "so ugly you can't do anything vicious to it, because inflicting any further suffering would be horribly redundant?"

Fortunately, an undetected sniper shot from concealment ends the suffering inflicted by that hideous appearance. (And puts the molerat out of its misery too... :D )

I *did* actually shoot it... Then everyone started shooting at me, and I wondered what was up... Only then did I notice the mole-rat I just killed was named Snuffles.

Oops.

I wish they had another [Medicine 5] check, That you could amputate his leg lol.

I don't post often. but I have to thank Obsidian for making New Vegas it is an awesome game, but more importantly I thank them for Snuffles.

I <3 Snuffles.

that is all.

I always disliked the mole rats. But, Snuffles is so cute. I had to build up my medicine points, to help him right away. :fallout:

I almost never shoot mole rats, coyotes, or dogs. They're not the most aggressive animals, and it seems like you have to get really close to them before they'll even try to attack. I thought snuffles was awesome, and there are other non-hostile mole rats in the game, although the bighorners seem to hate them with a passion. :sadvaultboy:

I was expecting a side quest or companion, or something hidden with animal friend.

I found nothing in Snuffles. Lame.

I still like Snuffles though.

Yeah, I expected Rex to take off like a light after the rat in North Freeside... no joy.

Babies are awesome. Yeah they smell when they let loose the fury of their bowels, but aside from that they're adorable.

There are ugly babies though. I believe Jeff Foxworthy did a bit on that.

I've not found Snuffles yet - is it part of the Wild Wasteland trait?

But its not the first friendly mole rat that we have encountered - there is the sad tale of poor Pumpkin, who nobody could set free. :(

i swear i used cheats or mods or found a way to get pumpkin out and he bit me....not sure if im remebering it correctly....but i swear he was hostile lol

I agree. When you think about it they do kinda look like aliens, but when you actually see one you can't help but find them cute. Unlike molerats. When I think about them I'm picturing the ugliest thing ever created, and then when I see them in game I realise that I've seriously underestimated their level of ugliyness in my previously mentioned mental image.

Maybe I am not wired right, but I have never seen this. To me, cute and babies are two totally unrelated words, and I have never quite understood what the fuss is about.

Now, kittens, on the other hand...
