Early in the game: The good ol' Cowboy Repeater-- what a versatile weapon, use it most of the game, stock, then modded: +quick reload, + a maple stock, +long tube ammo increase. The maple stock even looks classy. Early on with low Guns Skills, a lot of the scoped weapons are actually harder for me to hit stuff with because of sway. I can headshot a feral from about 400 yards with the CR, it seems like. Wish there was AP ammo for it. :sadvaultboy:
Chopper-- more lightweight goodness
Machete Gladius-- (if you're going to just wade into the Legion like I did after seeing Nipton for the first time)
various knuckles-- Recompense for the Fallen (also from CL) or just Spiked in perfect repair.
Later in the game:
.308 sniper w/AP, HP,. and standard.
Love and Hate
Pushy!! :celebration: I use it about 60% of the time.
I want to like the Fire Axe, and Oh Baby, but it seems unrealistic to carry invisibly. Same with the shovel. Be cool if there was a "Tactical Trenching Shovel" or such-- with a sharp edge like a hatchet. Or, I guess I should look for a backpack mod so stuff like that looked a bit more believable.
Toward the end:
Anti-Material Rifle (I'm sure there's a good reason for the name...?) .50 caliber goodness!
Pushy!!! With various perks and high unarmed, you pwn anything you can get within 10 steps of, so the only really vulnerable places are in the wide open desert, or for enemies up on roofs.
