I love the revolvers in New Vegas, especially the Ranger Sequoia and Lucky, but the reloading animation glitch kind of hampers the second one.
The ballistic fist is also awesome, as is the Plasma defender (even if it does eat through ammo).
I could go on and on, I really love the sheer ammount of weapons in the game, and the quality of them.

So far the best weapon I have used is the Gobi Campaign scout rifle. In one day of play, maybe 6 hours, I went through 400 rounds of .308 ammo with that rifle. I killed every Deathclaw in the Quarry Junction without a single one attacking because I was so far away.

Runner up is the Q-35 matter modulator, I gave it to Boone and now I don't get to kill anything because by the time I open VATS or even turn to aim all that is left is a pile of goo.

No it doesn't.

The Mantis Gauntlet does. This Machine doesn't.

Wanna bet? I have never gotten an armor symbol for it. I am almost positive that it ignores armor.

Guns:
That gun - I just love the sound it makes when you reload.
This Machine -- I've killed everything at least once with this baby.

Energy Weapons:
Plasma Defender - looks cooler than the plasma pistol
Incinerator - I love using it on big groups of armoered enemies..sshoot set them on fire.. run.. repeat..

Melee:
the chopper! - I just love this weapon...

Unarmed:
?? I haven't played enough with my unarmed guy yet.. the boxing tape is fun to knock out people and pummel in the ground though.

My EW character who is at level 11 is kind of on hold because I'm waiting for the new patch to see how she improves. My melee one will eventually get knock knock and oh baby, but I failed at my first attempt at knock knock.[overwhelmed with the radiation and the ghouls maybe just too low a level and I didn't know where or how to get it.. I got super slam for those guys now I'll see what they do now :toughninja: ]

Ballistic fist, Oh Baby!, sledgehammer (When you use mauler in VATS, the people go sky high, unlike Oh Baby!), Sniper rifle, and probably this machine once I get it.

Early in the game: The good ol' Cowboy Repeater-- what a versatile weapon, use it most of the game, stock, then modded: +quick reload, + a maple stock, +long tube ammo increase. The maple stock even looks classy. Early on with low Guns Skills, a lot of the scoped weapons are actually harder for me to hit stuff with because of sway. I can headshot a feral from about 400 yards with the CR, it seems like. Wish there was AP ammo for it. :sadvaultboy:
Chopper-- more lightweight goodness
Machete Gladius-- (if you're going to just wade into the Legion like I did after seeing Nipton for the first time)
various knuckles-- Recompense for the Fallen (also from CL) or just Spiked in perfect repair.

Later in the game:
.308 sniper w/AP, HP,. and standard.
Love and Hate
Pushy!! :celebration: I use it about 60% of the time.
I want to like the Fire Axe, and Oh Baby, but it seems unrealistic to carry invisibly. Same with the shovel. Be cool if there was a "Tactical Trenching Shovel" or such-- with a sharp edge like a hatchet. Or, I guess I should look for a backpack mod so stuff like that looked a bit more believable.

Toward the end:
Anti-Material Rifle (I'm sure there's a good reason for the name...?) .50 caliber goodness!
Pushy!!! With various perks and high unarmed, you pwn anything you can get within 10 steps of, so the only really vulnerable places are in the wide open desert, or for enemies up on roofs.

Ballistic fist, Oh Baby!

Yes. I keep saying it every time this question comes up. Playing unarmed with the Ballistic Fist is the most satisfying feeling I've ever had in a game like this.

VATS or no VATS, that glove is amazingly fun to use.
