I stand by what I said. I use no other weapons types. If it does not fire bullets, it is unused.

Same here, I just like some of the other weapons, never use them though, lasers and plasma are too weak, without enough ammo readily available for me, melee is just a joke "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight" and unarmed seems even stupider, even though the Balistic Fist is one of the most powerful weapons available.
I've never understood the appeal of the Cowbow Repeater, always prefered the Brush Gun as a main weapon if I'm using things like that, or a Hunting Rifle, untill I got This Machine.

Trail Carbine mounting a scope and loaded with SWC rounds. Big, small, far away, in my face....it does it all.

Edit: Add Brush Gun in there as well. If all the bugs with the weapon get squished and .45-70 ammo can be had in reasonable amounts they might as well delete the AMR from the game files. The I-15 Deathclaws can confirm this. :gun:

The Cowboy Repeater is a great weapon aside from the reloading animation bug, its fast, light, and does pretty good damage.

10mm SMG. Most useful weapon in the game. Once you have bug killer and some guns points you can deal with Cazadors and emergent situations very well.

I love my Ratslayer and Gobi Sniper, don't get me wrong but I put way more ammo through the 10mm SMG than everything else combined. You can move a bit quicker as it's classed as a pistol and does not slow you down. It's a bit of a Stalker habit but I don't use shotguns much. They are for hunting birds really. Pistols too I sell right away, citizen's weapon. I am not a citizen ... usually some kind of mercenary ... so I carry stronger weapons. 'That Gun' was sold right away, I have kept the hunting pistol though. ;)

Indeed, it isnt powerful, its average, but its so very reliable. I have an attraction to reliable weapons over powerhouse but quick to fail weapons.

Big fan of the vermint rifle, the unique version somewhat helps keep using it later into the game. Just like the night scope and the sound. Oh and it's overall design, just looks good. I'd carry this one around with a large pistol and/or shotgun to finish off anything real tough.

Second fav is the lever action shotgun, I like the look and feel. Not the best one out there but it's a good enough weapon imo. Like it's compact design and feel. Reminded me of terminator as well :P

12.7 silenced pistol is great ! A good alternative to the ranger revolver thingy, I like how you can rack up the same damage over time but can spread it out in a few more shots so you can disarm as well as cripple a guy which you can't drop quickly with the hard hitting ranger pistol. More easy to find ammo too.

Also like This Machine, don't understand why it's called that but I like M1's so it's awesome. Seems ridiculously good though ?

The .22 smg was also a fav, just like it's top load drum ammo :P It's fun for pray n spray in the fiends vault.

The All American was great too, great mix of sniping and run and gun. Good jack of all trades, master of none. Good alternative to carrying too many weapons, good travelling weapon.

Sure I'll have a bunch more favs outside of small arms in another play through, had Veronica using a ballistic fist which seemed awesome. Those are my favs for now.

I agree, I think for me its the reload animation and sound of the 9mm.
Also like " That Gun " , a nice cross between old west and future vegas, and a nice reload animation and sound also. (Green for Go) :)

I'd have to say my favorite weapon is the Light Machine Gun+.

200 rounds of pure joy.

The best weapon is still the Sniper Rifle+. It'll kill almost anything in 1-2 shots, except Lanius and probably Legendary Deathclaw (3-4 shots).

Assault Carbine / All American is also a great weapon mid-game.

I also love Maria/9mm pistols.

Consequently, my late-game load out was:
1) Sniper Rifle+
2) [switch ammo]
3) LMG+
4) Pulse pistol
5) Maria

Maria was, of course, the only one of those that was a hold-out weapon.

This Machine. It ignores armor.
Laser RCW. If you aim for the head or are fighting a lightly armored foe it is Amazing.
Oh, Baby!. Nothing better then bashing somebody with a giant hammer.
Pushy. Awesome Damage...Plus its named Pushy!
Mercy. Guess.

Multplas Rifle. Even moreso after I http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/images/35678-2-1289695597.jpg.

Also, That Gun. Its reloading animation is awesome bar none. Completely pointless but still cool actuated cylinder crane FTW. :D Double points for being one of the few pistol weapons that can load armor piercing rounds (or is it the only one?)
