Stuck in a wall...HELP!

Please forgive me if I don't agree. It was put rather simply by another person on these boards. It was something along the lines of:

The people who are complaining about the game are making more noise than those who are having a good experience since those that aren't having many problems aren't posting it online.

Which is true. Of course you're going to be able to find a ton of complaints in a Google search. Very few people are going to come online to say "Hey this game is great! I'm not having alot of problems either." Instead you hear over and over "This game svcks and I can't play it!" I'm not trying to make light of people's problems... It really svcks that some people cannot play it. However because the noisiest people are the ones who are complaining, saying that the game was rushed to release is opinion because you don't have all the information you need to make an honest judgment on that.

Surely the fact that there are so many complaints to begin with suggests that the game was in fact released too early? I mean sure, there's always going to be the odd complaint with every game. But when the complaints roll in on the scale that they have with this game, there is a problem. And that problem should have been fixed before releasing the game. When you take into consideration the sheer amount of complaints being made, it's no wonder that the complainers are the loudest.

Here's some numbers for you, just to help you understand just how many complaints are being made.

The "Fallout: New Vegas General Discussion" forum has been open since, at least, the 27th of January (earliest post I could find). Let's just say it's been active since then, that's 291 days. In those 291 days, 10,792 topics have been created.

Now.. The "Fallout New Vegas Hardware and Software Issues" forum has, obviously, only been active since the earliest release date. Which if I'm not mistaken was the 19th of October (?), 26 days ago. In those 26 days, 4,959 topics have been created. That's almoast half the number of topics that have been created in general discussion, and they've been created in less than a tenth of the time.

Does that sound like a well made game to you?

If you are outdoors, fast travel away, if you are indoors, I feel sorry for you.

Depending on how he's stuck it might not work, its possible to get stuck while falling after a jump, so no fast travel.

Well, I am a modder, and when I look at the game through the GECK, I can tell you 100% objectively, either this game was rushed out, or QA was severly lacking. From the issues with saved games, to AI issues, navmesh issues, missing triggers/dialog triggers for quests, clipping, terrain seams, etc etc etc. Even the NV GECK has issues the FO3 GECK and TESIV CS did not have.

Forgive me if this sounds condescending but I wasn't aware that being a modder made you an expert on that subject.

Just saying.

I don't understand how people can play with only one save. I have never lost a game due to an issue like this, or even come close, yet I'm still so paranoid about it happening that I save practically every 5 minutes, and after every little event that happens, even if its just me discovering a location after walking off in a random direction in the wastes, I'll save in case I do something I don't like and want to go back.

It puts him a few notches above you. All you've got is "Oh but the people who aren't having problems aren't posting because they're off enjoying the game". Which is speculatory at best.

toggle clipping on the console is my one "Why don't they just put it in the settings?" wonderment. Really.. I'm glad I am an over saver.. otherwise I can't imagine the frustration I'd have at getting stuck. Every sandbox game, RDR, GTA, Oblivion, Morrowind.. .. Heck even games like, Max Payne and Omikron. I get stuck. Because I wonder "what's in that corner over there?" it's usually nothing but I have to go look.. I get stuck everywhere. On consoles you just have to either svck it up or remember to save before going and investigating something that looks a bit shady.

I'm not a pc elitist because I love my console. I've learned one thing however: games like these, especially with a Gamebryo engine are best played on pc because of these annoying issues.

no they are best played on PC because of mods

Making a statement like "You should Google it. So many people are having problems that it must mean the game is broken." is pure speculation. The entire argument hinges on only counting the people who are having problems with their game and complaining about it. I'm not saying that the game has problems, but many exaggerate the issue by claiming the game is entirely broken, which it isn't.

I'm not even sure why I'm trying to argue this point. Obviously, you're not going to change your mind. The game is broken to you... I have no idea what the fascination is with bashing the game (most problems are avoidable) but whatever. To each his own. My game works fine; apparently yours doesn't.

No need to apologize; it just makes you sound ignorant of the subject.
I take it you don't know, but you can look at the "insides" of the game through the construction set and objectively see a lot of what is wrong with it, and something like missing dialog triggers isn't a subjective opinion, is it?

To the OP - you're going to be more likely to get the help you need if I knew where to move your thread (either the XBox360 Issues, or the Playstation 3 issues sub-forums.) Or at least make it more likely that the right people see your thread. Either PM me to let me know where to move this thread, or use the report function, please.

To everyone else - this is getting completely off-topic, here. Every single thread involving bugs doesn't have to devolve into an argument about who and how many people have issues with the game. Stay on topic from now on, or get a warning. If you really want to argue about this - find an open thread or make your own, but don't derail existing topics.

Thanks.
