Ideal Time to Start up Honest Hearts

Hey guys I am on my... 5th? play through of Fallout New Vegas and currently roll playing a hardcoe survivalist girl that lives off the land and uses only guns (boring I know but my four loves are snipers, rifles, pistols, and shotguns).
With that in consideration I have already managed to do my speed run from Goodsprings to the Medical clinic and got all my implants at level 1 (gotta love snowglobes and gambling with 9 luck) and am ready to set off into the Mojave and kick some dusty butt. However even before I go out to the Mojave... Zion calls me with its very tantalizing prizes.
More specifically the Desert Ranger Combat Armor, Survivalist Rilfe, and a Light Shining in Darkness. (The .45 Auto Pistol fully modded and the .45 Sub-machine Gun are also both very nice as well)

Having already finished this DLC on a previous run through I do know that running in at level 1 is equivalent to suicide. So i want to ask what level do you guys think its really practical to even think about making my way into the Honest Hearts DLC? I don't want to get completely shafted by teleport spawning Giant Green Geckos, Giant Cazadors, and Yao Gui. :bolt:
Or gunned down by .50cal sniping White Legs
This is to say the least about the other pricks that like to pump lead at you with 12.7mm submachine guns :gun: and/or chase you with flaming (AND poisoned) shishkebabs :flame:

I know how to play this game at a high level after having played countless hours of Fallout 3 as well as Fallout New Vegas however there is a limit where plain ability and planning isn't enough and you are gonna need a few levels before you can effectively get from point A to point B without dying some countless number of times.

TL:Dr summary: What is the earliest level you guys think is practical to start off the Honest Hearts DLC without getting completely owned all the time.

Whenever you want to go. Just when you feel comfortable, it wont effect anything. Do keep in mind that higher skills will help a lot.
Spoiler
There is some checks off the bat before you actually go that will let you carry more (yes, there is a weight limit, http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Happy_Trails_Expedition)

I just wrapped up a lvl 1 HH run right before I started my DID. I took a brain dead Paris Hilton clone, 1ST, 1EN and had no problem at all. I came out level 11 I think. Once you get a few guns, it's easy as pie. Never did rasie my guns skill above the starting point. Played on very hard/easycore. Go ahead and go. You'll have no problem.

If you want a challenge I'd say go in at 1 (or 2-3) otherwise I found 11 to be perfectly acceptable. they have some of the best games available in zion so the earlier you go the less work the rest of the game will be. However going in at a high level (28) is not nearly as fun as going in early. If you follow the set path I'd say it is perfectly acceptable to go as soon as you get to New Vegas.

Why a Paris Hilton clone? The real Paris Hilton is already brain dead so it makes no difference. With 1ST and 1EN must have been hard carrying her pansy posterior up and down those cliffs of Zion.

I never try to play real life people, just ones inspired by them. Playing a real person correctly is just too much effort. I'm not sayin' I'm lazy, I'm just sayin' I've got a well developed sense of conservation of energy. As for the gimped stats, I barely noticed. Yeah she couldn't carry much, but there's not too much you need to carry in HH and as for health, I barely ever got shot. At those low levels, the White Legs are not equipped with high end gear, and your followers are very strong compared to them. Anyways, it's not like Paris is gonna really make an effort to defend herself, right? She might break a nail.
