Once again, it CANT be done. There are too many ending variations for each quest and location to take into consideration, if they want to show a credulous gameworld after ending.
Not technically true. But effectively true, nonetheless. Josh, the guy that uses big words and sometimes confuses me, likes to use the word "scope". Now I don't think he's talking about mouthwash here, but what he means is that the project "scope" had to meet certain criteria. Budget, deadlines, engine limitations, etc. They could have made the game support after main quest play with all the permutations of the decisions you make in a playthrough, the engine could handle it, all it would take is a huge whopping metric ton of writing and scripting. Therein lies the problem with the scope of their project. They neither had the time nor the rescources to make such extra content available given the constraints of their contract with Bethesda. It would have been a huge undertaking, as almost all areas would neccessitate repopulating and the prerequesite rewriting and scripting to support every little change you made. I have always wondered if they considered making the 4 DLCs into an after dam battle ending, one for each main faction? I'm not too sure this is what I would want in DLC, but it certainly could have been one of the possibilities proposed. Just think of it in these terms: It took them 14 months to build the world, populate it and write all the story. How long would it take them to completely redo the world 4 more times?
