I don't blame Benny for that, I actually blame the writing. When I came to realize the role that Benny plays in this game, I caught a case of WTF, doubly so since the guys who worked on this game also did Planescape:Torment which had the best-written characters out of any game I have ever played, period. His rejection of the Courier's help just didn't jive with the rest of his character. That is, he knew the odds were stacked against him, so he was willing to use
any advantage at his disposal to succeed. Having the Courier, who is the only person to ever get into the Lucky 38, play double agent would have been a massive win for Benny. Once the Courier came around and saw his side of things, he should have jumped on that. From that point of the game on, I felt his storyline was a square peg being forced into a round hole...or maybe the other way around because he's no square, he's ring-a-ding, baby! I think the devs just underestimated their consumers' capacity for forgiveness.

Anyway, this is my first play through, and as an homage to Benny I plan to slip him the stealth boy and bobby pin, then later on take out House, just like he would have done. Hey, if the devs aren't going to write him into the final scene, I'll bring him there in spirit.
