Power Armor or Power Armor Perk....Is it fair?

Post » Sun Jun 26, 2011 3:28 pm

Yah and you will also feel like a supergod....

Not really since my game is much harder because of all the mods I run. I'll just feel like I'm really wearing an advanced piece of technology.

"They are LEGION!"

Marked of Kane is my favorite faction. I love commanding an army of cyborgs, cheaper stealth technology, and charged particle beams ftw. I don't mind losing the flame weapons, but losing laser scorpions is rough, forces me to rely on avatars and beam cannons as my main armor.

I actually prefer a double beamed avatar over a purifier or a flame avatar. Double beamed avatar burns through armor like a hot knife through butter. Though nothing takes down a base faster than purifiers with purifying flame.

OWB should have something nice for Power Armor, but it won't be the end of the world if it doesn't.

There's always mods for those things we want but never got. It would annoy me that the light armor people got a tron suit out of OWB and power armor players get squat.

I think the bos need a perk called "BOS", and Enclave needs a perk called "Enclave" where they can kill you a whole bunch of times, because they are better than you.

Bos needs the perk...... like the "more than 185hp perk". Or the "my pa is really way better than vet ranger armor" perk.

I voted for "it would be nice but I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen" because I managed to get my Power Armor character up to a DT of 43 - magnum bullets don't scare me. That said, it would be nice to have another suit of power armor but I seriously doubt I'm going to give up my Remnant Armor unless the new suit has an even higher DT. So I think I would prefer a perk, and even then it doesn't have to be super-awesome: If the perk just allowed you to run as fast in power armor as you do in light armor, I would add that perk to my character in a heart beat. :turtle:

In Shining Armor doesn't affect Power Armor. Power Armor Training just trains you to wear the suit.

Err yes it does, In Shining Armor's description is misleading but in fact says "metallic armor" so it effects armor that is metalic

Power Armor should get +5 DT or +25% DR. I would prefer the +25% DR because that would effectively put me in "walking tank" status. It would block the entire 20% damage of weapons that cant overwhelm your DT.

You can already get DR by taking slasher or Med-X but that doesn't negate damage of a weapon that failed to overcome your DT. It just reduce it even further.

Criticals would still ignore your DT and DR though and Light Armor wearers with "Light Touch" are now invulnerable to critical damage so why not?

Light Touch characters aren't immune to critical damage they just make a rare event a little bit rarer. Also criticals do not ignore DT or DR.

So it would be -25% of the 20% damage of weapons that cant overwhelm your DT?

Light Touch characters aren't immune to critical damage they just make a rare event a little bit rarer.

Not a little bit rarer. The -25% critical hit chance gaurantees that the highest critical chance an enemy can have is 5% which includes the critical multipliers of weapons.

Also criticals do not ignore DT or DR.

Damn. I coulda swore I read that sh!t multiple times. *scratches head*

The great thing about the http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37983 mod, is that the mod gives very specific functional detail qualities about how to upgrade your power armor. It allows you to break down power armor and use components. And when you read all the modifications it makes sense.

With Project Nevada that is compabitable with this, you have visors that limit your sights but gives you that realism that your really wearing a power helmet. The various visions available which can be turned on easily, gives you that extra kick that you are really involved with your PA.

Or more accurately you'd take 15% damage of weapons that cant overwhelm your DT.

Its a commonly held myth like soda causing dehydration in real life.
The critical damage is counted with the regular damage before applying DT. So even very weak weapons can usually scraqe by enough damage on a critical hit to overcome DT if your skill is high.
