Power Armor or Power Armor Perk....Is it fair?

Post » Sun Jun 26, 2011 6:29 pm

I feel I will be dissapointed if I don't get a power armor perk or power armor from Old World Blues. I would prefer a perk to enhance my current power armor, but a new suit of PA would satisfy me.

Light people got 2 perks - Travel Light + Light Touch

So many choices: The TRON suit, Assassin Suit, Sierra Madre Armor, Joshua Graham's armor, Gecko backed reinforced Leather Armor.

Medium Armor got decent attention, Metal Armor Reinforced Gecko backed (yes I consider it medium), That Metal Armor perks that adds DT against energy weapons, Desert Ranger Armor

Personally for me, I'de like to see a Power Armor Perk like this because it is lore correct:

Power Armor Master: Science 90

Your familiarity with power armor demands maximum effeciency.
All Power Armor has + 3 strength, no agility penalties, and +25% resistance to small arms fire (guns).

Old World Blues is supposed to be the "Tech" dlc, so that's why I have these expectations.

Interesting Idea. Knowing alot about science and repair could mean you get the max out of a suit of PA.

I am hoping that we can learn how to make http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Hardened_power_armor. I would like that more then a perk.

hardened power armor

Yes, I enjoyed that suit very much from FO2. It would be great if we could craft it with enough science/repair.

I hope not. PA is supposed to be rare and having to so makes it all that more awesome when I finally get my hands on it. Having it all over the place forces the devs to nerf it and in doing so takes the "Power" out of Power Armour.

Power armour got 2 perks as well, In Shining Armour and Power Armour Training.

What I think Power Armour need is a buff in DT (~5) and a lot more Tier 3/4 weapons to make having 40ish DT worth while.

I'd rather have an NPC or two more that can train you to use power armor over a perk.

In Shining Armor doesn't affect Power Armor. Power Armor Training just trains you to wear the suit.

More power to you, in a positive sense. I'm all good ;-)

Yes it does, except for faction ones. And Power Armour Training is still a perk whether you like it or not.

So you want to make an already Godly item ...Godlier?
You might as well replace all the enemies bullets with foam darts.

If your playing certain mods that add more enemies to the wasteland and/or make the game much more challenging in other ways, power armor really isn't that strong.

I love that mod, -but- I feel Power Armor needs a buff. I just can't buy that things mow me down if I'm packing a t-51b.

Ace is right, with the existing DT perks and the readiness of stimpack's, a power armor perk would make the character even more indestructible than before.

I actually like having to be challenged in my games. Not walk around in a tank and never tank any damage. That gets boring reallll quick.

There's actually a really cool http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37983 I just found and it is compatible with project Nevada.....so you can have Fallout 1+2 type power armor with several different visor visions and voice enhancements to warn me of enemies, etc.

From my reading, if you combine these two mods, your power armor will actually feel like power armor.

Power Armor should get +5 DT or +25% DR. I would prefer the +25% DR because that would effectively put me in "walking tank" status. It would block the entire 20% damage of weapons that cant overwhelm your DT. You would literally be invulnerable against most small arms if you stacked your DT sufficiently. Mine's at 43 when I wear T-51b. That's a lot of weapons that wouldnt be able to hurt me with non critical damage. Criticals would still ignore your DT and DR though and Light Armor wearers with "Light Touch" are now invulnerable to critical damage so why not?
