You've obviously never played any other games Bethesda has been a part of, then...

THEY FINISHED THE DLC LAST MONTH. It's in Sony's/Microsoft's hands now, go [censored] to them if you're too impatient to see "early July" through to its end before complaining.

You will probably get ppl coming here and say "They never said it would come in jun, they said PLANNED for june" trying to defend them but its BS.... they dont say nothing atall for a month after they havent shut up saying how good their game was before it was out apart from "there is going to be DLC for free planned in june" Due to the masses of people not happy with it and it not working the first week and having many problems its still has now.
Then they say nothing atall till the very end of june saying "The DLC will be free for only 2 weeks and not in june but 'slated' for July"
Then say nothing atall again, its just BS they have no respect for their customers, end of.

While that may be true, it is still undeniable that Bethesda/Splash failed to deliver. There's no defending it. If practically every other game on the market can provide a release date, many weeks (sometimes months) beforehand and DELIVER EACH TIME (CoD, Killzone, Battlefield) then there's no excuse why Bethesda/Splash can't do it, either.

I'm still waiting and I don't care if it's late, to be honest. Because the multiplayer on this game is a complete trash-heap. I'd rather wait an extra month or two for a patch then log in, enter a game, sit there by myself for 10 minutes, then play 1 vs. 1 for 10 minutes with some other hopeful sap, then watch him impatiently drop out, then be by myself again...or try one of the other modes and play with 7 bots and against 8 bots...only to realize how much time I wasted and get a sense yet again of how ripped off I was (so far).

Sure I can post my name on this site and look for other strangers to play with...but that's not how it should be. That is rubbish (for me). I only accept personal friends as my online friends, or people who play with me and prove to be good and mature (so many PS3 players are immature fools). I don't feel like turning Brink into EHARMONY.COM and culling through the idiots just so I can find humans to play with, in the year 2011, when other multiplayer FPS games were doing it right 6 STINKING YEARS AGO.

I still enjoy the single-player campaign; i.e. multiplayer without the occasional wandering human, but with slightly smoother animation and a much more challenging game because the opposing bots are so friggin' good. I'm about halfway through on "hard."

If and when they patch the match-making and add the pre-game lobby system this game will KICK MAJOR @$$. I hope that comes along with the DLC. Until then, it's a huge pile of rubbish. And if the DLC arrives without the patches that so many people asked for, then this game will be deader than Elvis by August (assuming the DLC arrives in July...as of now I trust nothing from Bethesda or Splash regarding Brink). I have little hope that the DLC will come with the necessary patches, because the list of patches/fixes they released for the PC contain so many unimportant little details that no one cared about, and completely ignored all the major issues that are sinking this otherwise awesome game into the ground for eternity.

As much as I too am pissed that the DLC was delayed, and know the game really needs it to bring it up to a higher standard content wise, they really did only say "planned" for June. If you got your hopes up and wholeheartedly EXPECTED a June release, it's your own fault for being overly optimistic, since they didn't say "THE DLC WILL DEFINITELY AND UNDOUBTEDLY RELEASE IN JUNE".

I'm starting to lose patience, but look on the bright side; at least it's only been delayed barely a single month so far. It might seem like a long time but really it isn't. And as agitated as the waiting is making me, it's not going to bring it any quicker, so there's no use getting antsy about it. If the DLC drops to become a total flop and disappointment, or is delayed yet again, then by all means continue your raging; hell, I'll probably join you.

most of the games that give you a date a month or two before hand have most likely submitted far prior with a set date in mind... so in other words those DLC packs sit approved until that date... when it comes to a "rush job" such as this you cant get a date... the next typical release date (tuesdays) after it gets approved will prolly be when it is out... would you rather them submit it and say august 7th? or would you like if they didn't say cause they dont know and have it come out on the 12th 19th or 26th...

the beginning of june was e3... i guarantee not much went on during that period... then they prolly developed it... then sent it to their publisher who had to ok it and set it up to be submitted... then when it was submitted it had to go through that quality control...

Even though they have said its in for comfirmation at sony/microsoft all they said was the DLC is 'slated' for early july. So considering they said 'planned' for june., 'slated' is still very vague and what your saying is if we get our hopes up and wholheartedly EXPECT a july release and it doesn't come, its our own fault for being overly optimistic, since they didnt say "THE DLC WILL DEFINITELY AND UNDOUBTEDLY RELEASE IN JULY"

Besides this isn't even my point atall, although its very onnoying I have no problem in wating for the DLC aslong as it means its finished and the best it can be. But what makes it allot worse is the fact they are completely silent about it and dont speak to their customoers which is helping to drive people away from the game.
For example they wouldnt stop talking to us before it was out. Then it came out and due to the bad response and many problems 2 weeks later they said 'we are doing a free DLC planned for june'
Then they say nothing atall for a whole month untill right at the end of june saying 'The DLC will not be free in june but it will be out early july and only free for 2 weeks' And then say absalutly nothing again.....
Its just BS, they are treating their customers like cr@p no wonder hardly anyone is playing and people have given up waiting. like I said they have no respect or show no respect for their customers, end of.

With all due respect my friend, there is no way you can convince me you work successfully as a decision-maker in a customer-based business after making a remark like that. If I ever told any of my customers, in any of the jobs I worked at as a project manager, "Well, it's your fault for expecting me to deliver in June...because I didn't say definitely June, I only said, 'planned for June'" I would be in HUGE trouble, if not fired.

If I say to my customers, "I plan for June" then I better be damned sure I deliver in June. To otherwise whip out a Johnny Cochran play-on-words technicality in defense of my failure may be technically correct, but it's piss-poor business.

Word.

You're awesome. You put out well written statements, while having actual reasons that are stated very clearly in every post i've seen.

To bad I can't push my temper down long enough to do anything similar.

We're entitled to free DLC when the developers say that they'll be giving us it. We have the right to be upset when they're late, but have given us barely given any kind of news about it that I know of. This demand is due to let down.

I'm not sure what relevance this question has to do with this thread. No one is demanding free crap out of nowhere. No one is demanding anything, really. People are just upset because they PAID, WITH MONEY, FOR A PRODUCT, THAT CAME ALONG WITH A PLEDGE, AND BOTH PRODUCT AND PLEDGE WERE SUB-PAR. If anyone is demanding anything, it's forthright communication from the people to whom they are giving their money. There is nothing unjustified about that.

Ugh.

I'm referring to an earlier response, I forgot to quote it and that's my bad.

It seemed to me that someone was simply upset because their free product wasn't released on time (which should be expected from game developers who are human as well as us). That seemed to be their only complaint. It wasn't released to THEIR needs/wants and that's a problem.
Perhaps I misunderstood?

Ha. Thanks, dude. I haven't read everything you've ever written but I haven't seen anything particularly nasty out of you. In fact I haven't seen anyone flaming other posters at all on this board, which is pretty refreshing considering the heated contentions surrounding this game.

Yeah, it really is. It's pretty amazing actually, I've seen a few posts that could be borderline so, but never out right being a complete jerk.
