As has been mentioned numerous times it is in the hands of Microsoft / Sony.
Patience grasshopper.
While that may be true, it is still undeniable that Bethesda/Splash failed to deliver. There's no defending it. If practically every other game on the market can provide a release date, many weeks (sometimes months) beforehand and DELIVER EACH TIME (CoD, Killzone, Battlefield) then there's no excuse why Bethesda/Splash can't do it, either.
I'm still waiting and I don't care if it's late, to be honest. Because the multiplayer on this game is a complete trash-heap. I'd rather wait an extra month or two for a patch then log in, enter a game, sit there by myself for 10 minutes, then play 1 vs. 1 for 10 minutes with some other hopeful sap, then watch him impatiently drop out, then be by myself again...or try one of the other modes and play with 7 bots and against 8 bots...only to realize how much time I wasted and get a sense yet again of how ripped off I was (so far).
Sure I can post my name on this site and look for other strangers to play with...but that's
not how it should be. That is rubbish (for me). I only accept personal friends as my online friends, or people who play with me and prove to be good and mature (so many PS3 players are immature fools). I don't feel like turning Brink into EHARMONY.COM and culling through the idiots just so I can find humans to play with, in the year 2011, when other multiplayer FPS games were doing it right 6 STINKING YEARS AGO.
I still enjoy the single-player campaign; i.e. multiplayer without the occasional wandering human, but with slightly smoother animation and a much more challenging game because the opposing bots are so friggin' good. I'm about halfway through on "hard."
If and when they patch the match-making and add the pre-game lobby system this game will KICK MAJOR @$$. I hope that comes along with the DLC. Until then, it's a huge pile of rubbish. And if the DLC arrives without the patches that so many people asked for, then this game will be deader than Elvis by August (assuming the DLC arrives in July...as of now I trust nothing from Bethesda or Splash regarding Brink). I have little hope that the DLC will come with the necessary patches, because the list of patches/fixes they released for the PC contain so many unimportant little details that no one cared about, and completely ignored all the major issues that are sinking this otherwise awesome game into the ground for eternity.
