Tropico 4

I can never understand why the capitalists love progress for progress's sake. Who cares if we're not using new technlolgy to build factories, when our agricultural exports make us completely rich!

That said, I usually do make cigars and lumber mills to supplement the cash crops. If you can have a steady stream of stuff going to the docks, then you'll continue to see a net increase even if some months you'll drop by tens of thousands.

Fishing can be a relatively inexpensive way to increase food production to free up farms for export goods as well.

I had a Fishing/canning only island that had lots of docks. The food variety was crap, but it was an interesting island. My biggest beef is how fast oil supplies and mines run out. It may be more realistic, but its hard to stay a certain RP, like oil conglomerate, or "gold island" when they run out after a few decades.

I also like making massive parks/mazes/general scenery with the beautification tools. I'll line every tourist street with trees and shrubs etc. I Just like to create stuff. Love bringing in an archaeologist and turning the ruins and temples into tourists traps in the middle of nowhere.

Im looking forward to the addition of the stock market. Might be some cools ways to make money through edicts. maybe stock fraud and hedging? I also saw the addition of salt mines in the trailer, also it seems you may need blueprints to make certain buildings.

How exactly do marketplaces work in Tropico 3? Most of the time I build them they serve no meals...

They distribute the food, basically just a way so your citizens dont have to go to restaurants or the farms for food. If yours are not working, maybe its a glitch? Mine always worked on the console version of 3.

This kind of bothered me, but the load glitch alone makes me want it. They said 20 new buildings, plus the expansions buildings from 3. New edicts, disasters, etc. Putting citizens and loyalist in power and more diplomacy etc. It looks the same, but one of the features is enhanced graphics. Perhaps just more optimized? If I can create without being hampered by a loading glitch, I'll be good.
