brink is a great game. the reason it got so much hate is because people thought it had so much potential yet it didn't live up to the hype. However most games dont live up to there hype and so many people imagined what brink might be like by the trailers and demo's and created their own game by what they saw. In conclusion, most people who didn't watch trailers or demos 90% of the time will like it. i got about 8 of my friends to buy it and they all loved it. actually 3 out of the 8 said it was their favorite game. When you say brink didn't live up to its hype thats not true. it showed exact game play footage and when the real game came out it wasnt nearly as good as they excepted yet if they never watched gameplay/trailers they would love the concept of the game itself and not something they thought would be in the game.
also, lots of the brainless TDM fans thought it looked cool but dont like teamwork and cant effectively camp with a sniper rifle. im kinda glad a lot of the brainless ones didnt stick with it.
to many of the younger players just care about their k/d epeen waving stats. its why a lot of FPS games these days are poor compared to the older classics. the thing is they have sacrificed their own enjoyment for the sake of some irrelevant stats. sad really.
FPS used to just be about who was best in the game. then it was about good teamwork. now its about hiding in a tree with a sniper rifle
