Bioware 2.0

Post » Fri Aug 19, 2011 1:19 pm

So, Im the only in this forum excited for ME3? then?, awesome, more for me :spotted owl:

No way, I shall appear now!
A New Challenger Approaches!

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to ME3 very much. It looks like they learnt from their mistakes in ME2 and DA2, both EA and Bioware in their own way. Would they not have, I'd not be looking forward to it. And the FemShep campaign is a nice touch. Vote for red. Obviously. ^_^
I have a problem with them insulting their fanbase.

Oh what did I miss now?

I still need to finish ME1 which I picked up on Steam for 5 euros a while ago. :P

I thought ME1 had some pretty repetitive 'dungeons'. Those small bases on planets that all looked the same aside from crate placement, and were mostly used for filler quests. Yet I hardly heard people complaining about that. Is it that much worse in Dragon Age 2?

It's the same.
This bashing is getting ridiculous, and I've found the only way to see if I'll like a game is to simply try it out for myself. All of these "they're owned by the DEVIL!!1!" and "DA2 is the WORST game I've ever played" posts are blowing the whole thing way out of proportion. I have not "lost faith" in Bioware. Everyone makes mistakes. I know better than to hate them for making some choices I disliked.

Anyone still have a problem with them

No.

(Didn't care about DA2, after playing DA1. So I missed out on that. Not a huge fan of Star Wars, so I'm indifferent towards the MMO. Looking very much forward to ME3, but what I'm really, truly hoping for is an ME2 Ultimate Edition. Need to play the DLC's if I'm going to be ready for ME3, but I've no interest at all in dealing with yet another online shop.)

There's not even variable box placement :hehe: Starting and ending points differ, but the same caves, mines and ruins are used for every sidequest. Some passages are sealed of with convenient concrete slabs, but the minimap still show the areas beyond it. Shoddy work, especially from a "AAA" developer, but not really much worse than in Mass Effect.

Well, EA or not, they haven't produced a "Command & Conquer 4" yet, so no :)

Oh science, do I resent the day C&C4 came out...

I think we should all just claim that the Free Marches are under the control of whoever made this red lyrium stuff. Kind of like the village in Uzumaki - except it's not spirals, but the urge for prefabricated buildings, and the twisting of caves into prefabricated-looking clones. Yes, that must be it.

Well, Kirkwall is a pretty screwed up place. I can go with that :hehe:

I was in that thread, someone was being an [censored] in the forums, reporting a poster for some non-rule breaking stuff (i forgot exactly what), and then arguing with the moderator's decision to not do anything about it. That poster that was accused (Persephone) has gotten a lot of bad rap in the BW forums for keeping a positive opinion about DA2.

I sometimes wish moderators here would speak like that ^_^

They kind-of-fixed that in ME2..... they got rid of the "bounce around in your buggy on the Bryce-generated square map" minigame and replaced it with a (differently annoying) planet-scanning minigame. In the process, all the planetary sidequests got turned into handmade maps instead of those repeated small buildings. ("Go search/rescue/raid/whatever the freighter" quests still have the small-map-with-different-crates thing, since all the Generic Freighters are... well, generic freighters.)

before EA bought biowarw, NVN OC was infamous of its absolute stupidity that even a 10 years old could write better. Jade empire was another NVN in oriental theme, as a Chinese, Ifound it svcks major hardcoe. EA brought QA to the team, and a good channel closer to its customers.

Bioware killed itself mutiple times since the start, if you blame EA, you obviously haven't played enough of their games.

Nope, EA killed Bioware. Played every game they ever made. Obvious EA scheming/cutting/ruining is obvious.

As soon as EA touched them, it all went wrong. I'd say more, but I'm sure it's already been said.

Can you show us on the doll where EA touched them?

I agree. The only reason people have any fond memories of NWN is due to the extensive modding. I despised what I saw of Jade Empire (I'll give you 3 guesses as to who was the lead on that one), and I was underwhelmed by kotor. I am beginning to believe that DA:O was a fluke, and even that had issues.

Honestly I wish EA would have went and ruined Obsidian or some other RPG company and left Bioware alone.
