NEW SNIPER IDEA

Haha, gotcha there didn't I. yeah i love sniping in other games, and i like it in brink (excuse me LIGHT RIFLES) and i understand the devs idea in leaving it the way it did. and also why it doesn't fit in with brink. but i think there are creative ways to work around that and appease snipers like me

knockdown sniper: low damage, but induces knockdown, think like a really bad grenade launcher. would take a lot of balancing i understand that

explosive sniper: basically the same thing, and then you could just combine the 2, this is just area of effect. more easily accurate grenade launcher

stun sniper: self explanatory NO OR EXTREMELY (LESS THAN PISTOL) LOW DAMAGE. again intense balancing.

injure sniper: again, building off of stun sniper, damage over time and/or SMART incapacitation removed altogether or knocked down a tier (heavy > none, medium > heavy) also i used the term SMART so that it can possibly also mean other elements of character size like movement speed

injure sniper cont: basically this idea i saw today called a debuff, optional damage and varieties of these could exist and bring ideas stated above, smart debuff, health debuff, weapon debuff, list goes on

the most controversial i believe: heavy sniper: a sniper closer to the ideas of mainstream fps games, locked into the heavy tier. to justify the heavies aren't meant to be parkouring all over the place, so a sniper would work. but yeah i know bad company 2 your entire team is full of heavy snipers with the "my team will do it" mentality

I think your "knock down" and "heavy" ideas are actually really cool. The other ones sound more like ammo-buffs to me (akin to the Soldier's "Armor Piecing"). The explosive ammo would be friggin' bawler but SOOOOO OP lmao
It'd have to be for like ONE shot or something and it'd make the Soldier that much more lethal. XD
The stun an "injure"/DoT bullets seem more at home in Brink though. Stun would be more like... Rubber bullets. Minimal, if any, damage and a slight slow-down to the enemy... That'd be awesome to tie in to team play. As well, the DoT thing would be great.
Think of this scenario - You just applied your DoT ammo and you're in a fire-fight, turns out you're on the losing end but both of you are REALLY weak... The only difference?? You were pelting them with ammo that's going to hurt them even after you're done shooting...
Seems like it'd be a LIFE saver sometimes. :P Even if you die, you still draw that match.
Now that I think about, the same for knock-down stuff too, this is probably best combined with the somehow-balanced-explosion ammo.
(maybe the explosive ammo should be an engineer buff..?)

The only one that sounds like it's own weapon is the heavy sniper... We NEED something like that. It'd have to have some HEAVY recoil though.
