Marching Band

Wasn't in the band myself, but my high school had the world's largest high school marching band while I went there, and I believe they still do.

The school's wikipedia page says 680 members, but I don't know when that was posted. I'm sure it's still somewhere around that.

Any band over 150 or so members, IMO, makes it difficult to do anything interesting.

They can line up to spell EAGLES (the mascot). :P

And honestly they do sound really good.

Interesting how I just stumble upon this thread right after getting back from playing at the first ISU home football game this season. I play Trombone, 1st part. We definitely played a good show, way better than at the first game last year, in my opinion.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. We put a lot of hard work in the past couple of weeks (especially at band camp) so if we keep it up it's going to be a really good year. Hoping we go to a bowl game as well since we didn't last year.

Just curious. What is the "theme" of the show you're playing? This week we're playing songs from "boy bands" which sounds...incredibly lame, but it's actually enjoyable to play because the music is scored so we play it in a different style. Fortunately, later on this year we're doing a show playing classical music to offset some of the more mainstream stuff that I don't care for as much.
