I wonder how many kids will actually get the reference when he is actually grown up.

Not many, I imagine.

I'd call him Dova or Dave for short. ;)

NOne of them I bet. Instead, he'll have old, crotchety professors snickering at reading the name. Then some crazy English professor will start speaking to him in the dragon tongue, and mock him by quoting Alduin when he doesn't get it. And naturally, some P.E. teacher somewhere will shout FUS RO DAH at him.

To put in more of my opinion on this I see how the name could be a problem, but uniqueness is important in some ways and I think the names of today are boring. But hey I think Azura is a good girl name in my opinion. I just don't see why we have to keep to names of the past anyhow, as long as the name isn't profane or is something like "SUbichINBOW MONSTER!" I think it is fine.

I'm not sure about Azura, but Almalexia would make a good "weird' name for a girl. Two nicknames you can derive (Alma, Lex/lexi), and it has a certain rough elegance to it.

I don't see why some of you have such big issues with it. Dovakhiin's an interesting name, IMHO, as would be Azura, Almalexia, Falanu, Hlaalu etc. Some TES names would simply work great for unique names. I mean, I can understand avoiding naming your child "Molag Bal", but something like Fyr or Elante? Go for it. ^_^

I can imagine the stress of people trying to guess how to pronounce Hyarnarenquar, though.
