But I just thought about this idea. I'm talking about a game that has NOTHING to do wtih harry's adventures, or anything like that. I'm not talking about some rubbish movie game made for the purpose of of making money, aimed towards little kiddies, like the movie games have been.
I'm talking about a bethesda-RPG style harry potter game. You start off with a rubbish wizard, in the wonderful world of harry potter... you train him up, do quests for people... you can become a mighty powerful evil wizard, or a member of the aurora...
Need new equipment? Go down to diagon ally! Go to ollivanders and get yourself the best wand you can for your money... get some nice looking robes... buy some books that teach you new spells! I'm not talking about a linear story driven game! As I said, bethesda-RPG style.
The story would start with you being some petty 10 year old, living a regular life in the world of magic. One day you get a letter inviting you to hogwarts! You get to ride the train, you sit down, look out the window and watch the lush landscape go by. You arrive at hogwarts, and get initiated into a house. In your house dorm you can interact with the other students and they can become your friends, and they may help you out on your future adventures. Then the real game starts. You chose what forms of magic you want to study most (like chosing your major/tag skills) Choices like... Charms, Transfiguration, Conjuration, Duelling spells, Offensive spells, Jinxes, Hexes, Curses, Defensive spells, Healing spells, Magical fauna and flora, Magizoology, Herbology, Magic creation, Alchemy, Potions, Wandlore, Divination, Dark Arts... so many potential choices for your wizard!
All of these branches of magic have different advantages and disadvantages. Don't think there are any shortages of spells to use, either! Just look here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_spells_in_Harry_Potter
And then after 7 years of study at hogwarts (which of course are fast forwarded where they need to be
What do you guys think?
